Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Spontaneous Multipolar Mitosis Through CIN‐seq

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multipolar mitosis, a hallmark of chromosomal instability (CIN), drives tumor heterogeneity but is challenging to study in live cells. Using CIN‐seq, a single‐cell multiomics method, we profiled rare CIN events and identified mechanisms associated with viable multipolar mitosis, including PTEN attenuation, Rho GTPase‐driven cytokinesis failure, and ...

Gut Mycobiota‐Associated Tryptophan Catabolites Protect Against Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that the intestinal microbiota participates in the progression of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) through microbiota‐host interaction. However, the beneficial role of commensal mycobiota in MASLD progression remains poorly understood.

Effects of induced electric field and high-pressure microjet sterilization on the physicochemical properties of milk

open access: yesFood Science of Animal Products
This study aimed to investigate the difference between low-temperature sterilization methods including induced electric field (IEF) technology and the high-pressure microjet (HPM) and traditional thermal treatment including pasteurization and ultra-high ...

DOT1L Drives Endothelial‐to‐Mesenchymal Transition and Fibrotic Vascular Remodeling via H3K79 Methylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
DOT1L as a central epigenetic regulator of EndoMT and pulmonary fibrosis. Acting as an early epigenetic switch, it translates TGFβ–SMAD signaling into H3K79me2‐mediated chromatin remodeling, selectively activates fibrosis‐related genes, and primes ECs for rapid mesenchymal transition.

Zeta-Potential of Casein Micelles as a Factor in Age Gelation of Ultra-High Temperature Processed Concentrated Skim Milk

open access: yes, 1992
The effect of ultra-high temperature processing by direct steam injection and room temperature storage of pH-adjusted and unadjusted 3X (volume reduction) skim milk retentate and the effect of storage at various temperatures of 3X skim milk retentate ...

Adipocyte‐Derived Leptolin Enhances Energy Expenditure and Prevents Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identified a novel adipokine, which we named leptolin. In humans, leptolin levels in white adipose tissue were positively correlated with exercise and negatively associated with body mass index. We observed elevated leptolin in serum from athletes and lower leptolin in serum from obese individuals.

Aflatoxin M 1 occurrence in ultra high temperature (UHT) treated fluid milk from Minas Gerais/Brazil

open access: yes, 2013
Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) was determined in 75 samples of ultra-high-temperature (UHT)-treated fluid commercial milk from Minas Gerais, Brazil, from July to November 2009. AFM1 determinations were carried out by HPLC.

Cryo‐EM Structure Guided Engineering of Botulinum Neurotoxin A With Advanced Receptor Binding Affinity and Therapeutical Benefits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The butterfly unfolded wing in an open form structure of botulinum neurotoxin type A (BoNT/A) at physiological‐state was confirmed at 2.85 Å resolution by cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM). Structure‐guided protein engineering significantly enhanced the receptor‐binding affinity, therapeutic efficacy, and safety of the engineered toxin variants ...

Differential scanning calorimetry as a tool to detect antibiotic residues in ultra high temperature whole milk

open access: yes, 2009
Detection of penicillin G, ampicillin and tetracycline in ultra high temperature whole milk was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Thermal parameters including the heat of fusion, the evaporation temperature, the heat of evaporation and ...
