Ultrasonic atomization of distilled water

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2018
Experimental data on ultrasonic atomization of distilled water in a frequency range from 5 to 50 kHz are presented. A good agreement was found with the predictions of Rajan and Pandit [Ultrasonics 39, 235–255 (2001)] for the atomized primary drop size as a function of frequency.

Ultrasonic Atomization Studies

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1966
Atomization of selected fluids has been observed to occur in a capillary at various resonance heights of the standing ultrasonic wave in the fluid. The length of fogging has been observed to be a function of the voltage applied to the transducer producing the ultrasonic wave in the fluid.

Ultrasonic Atomization of Liquids

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1963
A theory of ultrasonic atomization of liquid films is presented. It is assumed that exponential growth of surface disturbances ultimately results in the formation of liquid drops, the diameters of which are proportional to the wavelength of the most rapidly growing initial disturbance.

Industrial and medical uses of ultrasonic atomizers

Ultrasonics, 1972
Abstract The methods and uses of this form of atomization are surveyed. The applications range from ordinary liquids to molten metals, from throughputs of fractional gallons per hour to more than 100 Imperial gallons per hour (100 gal h −1 ) or 140 grammes per second (140 g s −1 ), and the resulting drop sizes vary from just above 1 μm to 180 μm, all
