Micromachined silicon ultrasonic atomizer
1996 IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium. Proceedings, 2002High amplitude ultrasound, generated by a micromachined silicon resonant transducer, was used to atomize and pump liquids. The needle-shaped device made by bonding two silicon horns, is driven by lead-zirconate-titanate (PZT) piezoelectric plates. Water was atomized continuously at feed rates of 2.4 ml/min into a mist with mean drop size of 25 /spl mu ...

Ultrasonic Atomization of Liquids
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1962An experimental study was made of the mechanism by which the ultrasonic vibration of liquid surfaces causes atomization. At exciting frequencies in the range of 10 to 800 kc, uniform patterns of crossed capillary waves were found on the liquid surface when atomization occurred.

Air-assisted ultrasonic atomization
1996 IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium. Proceedings, 2002We have established a correlation between the drop diameter with peak volume-percent of the drop-size distribution obtained in ultrasonic atomization and the wavelength of the capillary waves determined by the ultrasonic frequency in accordance with the Kelvin equation.

Ultrasonic atomization of the DNA solution for atomic force microscopy
Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology B: Microelectronics and Nanometer Structures Processing, Measurement, and Phenomena, 1995We have investigated the ultrasonic atomization of the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) solution as a simple preparation technique to image circular DNA molecules with the atomic force microscope. The DNA solution with a relatively high concentration (∼25 μg/ml) is ultrasonically atomized at the exciting frequency of 2.4 MHz.

Ultrasonic atomization: Effect of liquid phase properties
Ultrasonics, 2006Experiments have been conducted to understand the mechanism by which the ultrasonic vibration at the gas liquid interface causes the atomization of liquid. For this purpose, aqueous solutions having different viscosities and liquids showing Newtonian (aqueous solution of glycerin) and non-Newtonian behavior (aqueous solution of sodium salt of carboxy ...

High-Frequency Ultrasonic Atomization With Pulsed Excitation
Journal of Fluids Engineering, 2003Ultrasonic atomization is a very convenient method to produce sprays of very small droplets. Resulting droplet size distributions are very narrow and the mean diameter is essentially only controlled by the excitation frequency. Generation of droplets in the micron range requires MHz waves, with voltages around 30 V, which translates into power ...

Ultrasonic Atomization Amount for Different Frequencies
Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 2011The mass flow rate of ultrasonic atomization was estimated by measuring the vaporization amount from a bulk liquid with a fountain. The effects of ultrasonic frequency and intensity on the atomization characteristics were investigated when the directivities of the acoustic field from a transducer were almost the same.

Production of SAC305 powder by ultrasonic atomization
Powder Technology, 2011Ultrasonic atomization has been used for the production of high quality powders for soldering and soldering pastes. This research is to study the production of SAC305 powder employing an ultrasonic atomizer. Effects of operating parameters: melt temperature, melt feed rate, amplitude of acoustic wave and oxygen content in the atomizing vessel, on the ...
