An Ultrasonic System for Weed Detection in Cereal Crops [PDF]
Site-specific weed management requires sensing of the actual weed infestation levels in agricultural fields to adapt the management accordingly. However, sophisticated sensor systems are not yet in wider practical use, since they are not easily available for the farmers and their handling as well as the management practice requires additional efforts ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

The detection of ultrasound using fiber-optic sensors
Ultrasound is a valuable tool for the detection of damage in structures and the characterization of material properties. Its detection is conventionally done by piezoelectric transducers, however fiber-optic sensors can operate over a greater range of ...

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Ultrasonic Reflection for Measurement of Oil Film Thickness and Contact between Dissimilar Materials [PDF]
The contact between dissimilar materials occurs in many machine elements where one of the contacting parts is manufactured from low modulus materials such as lip seals, o-rings, and metal on polymer prosthetic hip joints.
