Effect of Ultrasonic Vibration on Increasing Embossing Speed during Hot Glass Embossing Process
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2019Nowadays, microstructures have an important role in optical products as well as in optical systems. Beside machining methods, hot glass embossing is recently a novel technology to manufacture microstructures in optical components with high quality and low cost. Especially, this technology has been assisted efficiently by ultrasonic vibration.

Development of a new apparatus for ultrasonic vibration-assisted glass hot embossing process
Precision Engineering, 2013Abstract A new apparatus for an ultrasonic vibration-assisted glass hot embossing process has been developed. The upper die constitutes the ultrasonic vibrating device, and a cooler is provided to protect the transducer from the high operating temperatures.

Polymer circuit boards fabricated by ultrasonic hot embossing
Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, 2013In this paper, a novel polymer circuit board fabricated by ultrasonic hot embossing is presented. Conductive paths are generated by ultrasonically embossing interruptions into a continuous metal layer coated onto a plastic substrate, and all electronic components are mounted onto the board in a single ultrasonic process step.

Hot embossing precise structure onto plastic plates by ultrasonic vibration
Polymer Engineering and Science, 2005AbstractHot embossing achieves excellent performance in replicating precise features onto large plastic plates. It has become a popular approach because microstructures in master molds can now be easily made using Lithographie GaVanoformung Abformung (LIGA) and micro‐electro‐mechanical‐system (MEMS) technologies.

Fabrication of Molded Interconnection Devices by Ultrasonic Hot Embossing on Thin Polymer Films
IEEE Transactions on Electronics Packaging Manufacturing, 2009Ultrasonic hot embossing allows fabrication of metal patterns onto a polymer film with a low cost and rapid process. A polymer layer with a thin metal film on top is welded onto the polymer substrate where there are protruding micro structures on the tool. Edges around the protruding structures cut the metal layer and ensure electrical insulation.

Coupled thermomechanical finite element analysis of ultrasonic hot embossing process
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering ScienceUltrasonic Hot Embossing of polymers is one of the most attractive manufacturing methods of high-quality and complex microparts needed for biological and chemical processes. A little simulation work has been done to study the deformation mechanism and the required load in the Ultrasonic Hot Embossing of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).

Production of micro-channels with an integrated porous membrane by ultrasonic hot Embossing
[ES] Currently, a polymer chip (Fig. 1.1) is being developed for the analysis of cells together with the University of Kaiserslautern. It is about a micro total analysis system (μTAS) which will integrate the functions of a lab on a chip just in a few centimetres.

Ultrasonic Vibration Hot Embossing
International Polymer Processing, 2005Abstract Hot embossing has become a popular method for replicating precise micro-features onto large plastic plates. However, a long cycle time of the process due to conventional electric heating or hot oil heating is one of problems that confound the overall success of this technology. This study proposed a novel hot embossing method by

Modeling the Embossing Stage of the Ultrasonic‐Vibration‐Assisted Hot Glass Embossing Process
International Journal of Applied Glass Science, 2014Ultrasonic vibration technology has recently been applied in high‐temperature forming processes, such as hot upsetting and hot glass embossing. Experimental research has delineated the effects of ultrasonic vibration on reducing required forces and improving the formability of materials. The purpose of this study was to construct a finite element model
