Role of hydrometallurgy and nanotechnology in environmental protection
Hydrometallurgy, sometimes called leaching, includes the selective dissolution of metals from their ores, concentrates and waste materials. Metal winning requires an individually optimized process based on acceptable productivity as well as on high ...

Structure and substructure properties of magnesium oxide thin films [PDF]
In this paper we have conducted a comprehensive study of the structural and substructural characteristics of magnesium oxide films by X-ray diffraction analysis. Thin films MgO were prepared by spray pyrolysis technique from a magnesium chloride solution.

Zirconium, hafnium, and mixed zirconium/hafnium doped indium tin oxide thin films are accessible by atomic layer deposition. The amorphous functional films are about 8 nm thick and show a high interdiffusion of all elements. Their transistor characteristics can be modulated depending on the amount of Zr and Hf oxide phases incorporated in these thin ...

Beyond Imperfect Match: Silicon/Graphite Hybrid Anodes for High‐Energy–Density Lithium‐Ion Batteries
Silicon/graphite (Si/Gr) hybrid anodes are limited by Si's large volume change and mismatch with Gr. This review offers mechanistic insights into imperfectly matched Si/Gr hybrid anodes, elucidating heterogeneous lithiation behavior and interfacial failure pathways, and thereby informing the design of durable, high‐energy–density lithium‐ion batteries.

Agglomerate-free BaTiO3 particles by salt-assisted spray pyrolysis [PDF]
Optimum conditions for the synthesis of nonagglomerated BaTiO3 particles by salt-assisted spray pyrolysis (SASP) were investigated. The effect of particle residence time in the reactor and salt concentration on the crystallinity and surface morphology of

This study presents a laser‐assisted glass‐frit encapsulation method for perovskite solar cells, comparing air‐, nitrogen‐, and CO2‐filled cavities. Results show that excluding oxygen and moisture significantly improves stability under illumination. The findings reveal the critical role of trapped gases in degradation, providing a pathway to durable ...

Abnormal reduction of Eu ions and luminescence in CaB2O4: Eu thin films [PDF]
Thin films of CaB2O4: Eu were deposited on glass substrates by spray pyrolysis. The abnormal reduction of Eu3+ to Eu2+ in as-grown thin films was found at the growth temperatures from 300 to 500 °C.
