Ultrasonography of the scrotum in adults

open access: yesUltrasonography, 2016
Ultrasonography is the ideal noninvasive imaging modality for evaluation of scrotal abnormalities. It is capable of differentiating the most important etiologies of acute scrotal pain and swelling, including epididymitis and testicular torsion, and is ...

Ultrasonic Atomization Spray Coating of PCL on an Mg‐Based Alloy Enhanced by Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation for Improved Adhesion, Corrosion Resistance, and Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Plasma electrolytic oxidation is combined with ultrasonic spray deposition of polycaprolactone (PCL) on WE43 magnesium alloy to improve adhesion, corrosion resistance, and cytocompatibility. The hybrid coating demonstrates significantly reduced hydrogen evolution and enhances mechanical bonding, offering a promising strategy for next‐generation ...

Prenatal ultrasonography of craniofacial abnormalities

open access: yesUltrasonography, 2018
Craniofacial abnormalities are common. It is important to examine the fetal face and skull Epub ahead of print during prenatal ultrasound examinations because abnormalities of these structures may indicate the presence of other, more subtle anomalies ...

3D‐Printable Near‐Infrared‐Responsive Microscale Cantilever made of the Composite Consisting of Ceramic Particles and Graphene Flakes

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A near infrared‐responsive microscale cantilever is developed using a 3D‐printable composite based on photocurable resin consisting of sepiolite and graphene flakes. The material absorbs 1064 nm light, causing shape transformation with an average displacement of 1.3 mm in 1.7 s. Displacement is measured via video recording.

Assessment of fetal left ventricular function in pregnancies with Anti-Ro/SSA or Anti-La/SSB antibodies using velocity vector imaging

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth
Background Intrauterine exposure to anti SSA/Ro and anti SSB/La antibodies has been associated with the development of fetal congenital heart block and, in severe cases, fetal demise.

Development of SiC Nanocomposites Using Direct Ink Writing Process

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, feedstock inks containing polycarbosilane and various concentrations of SiC nanoparticles (SiCnp) are investigated for fabricating ceramic matrix composites using a DIW 3D printing process. Characterization results from physical measurement, microstructure analysis, and thermal and flexural testing suggested that high‐performance CMC samples ...

Stabilized Intermediate Phase Via Pseudo‐Halide Anions Toward Highly Efficient and Light‐Soaking Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The formate pseudo‐halide anion is strategically introduced at the buried interface to stabilize the intermediate phases formed during perovskite crystallization. The controlled crystallization enhances crystallinity and alleviates tensile strain, eliminating residual PbI2 near the buried interface.

In Situ Constructed Magnetic Core‐Shell Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Framework‐on‐Metal–Organic Framework Structure: an Efficient Catalyst for Peroxymonosulfate Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, a magnetic core‐shell catalyst (HOF‐on‐Fe3O4/ZIF‐67) is successfully synthesized, consisting of a metal–organic framework (ZIF‐67) with magnetic Fe3O4 as the core and a porous hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (HOF) as the shell. The catalyst efficiently activated peroxymonosulfate, resulting in rapid and effective removal of water ...
