Comparison of the Thin Convex Probe Endobronchial Ultrasound Bronchoscope to Standard Endobronchial Ultrasound and Flexible Bronchoscope—A Cadaveric Study

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Convex probe endobronchial ultrasound (CP-EBUS) with transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) is used to sample mediastinal and hilar lymph nodes and is considered a gold standard for mediastinal staging of lung cancer.

Dehydration potential of ultrathin clouds at the tropical tropopause. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We report on the first simultaneous in situ and remote measurements of subvisible cirrus in the uppermost tropical troposphere. The observed cirrus, called UTTCs (ultrathin tropical tropopause clouds), are the geometrically (200–300 m) and optically (τ ≈

Electrical and chemical characterisation of ultrathin transistor gate dielectric layers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This work examines the suitability of both ultrathin Silicon Oxynitride (SiON) and Hafnium Silicate (HfSiON) layers to be used as high-permittivity gate dielectrics to serve as a replacement to silicon dioxide (Si0 2 )in future Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (

Diagnostic Performance of Radial EBUS‐Guided Cryobiopsy for Peripheral Lung Lesions: First Experience in Morocco

open access: yesThe Clinical Respiratory Journal, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
Radial EBUS‐guided transbronchial cryobiopsy using a 1.1‐mm cryoprobe achieved a 75.3% diagnostic yield for peripheral lung lesions in 73 patients, with no severe hemorrhage. Protocolized balloon blocker use effectively controlled all bleeding events, supporting cryobiopsy as a feasible, safe alternative to conventional forceps biopsy.

Toward Wireless Implantable Robotic Systems Driven by Magnetic Field for Personalized Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, Volume 2, Issue 3, June 2026.
Robotic materials are playing an increasingly vital role in enabling sensing and actuation at small scales. This perspective highlights recent advances in magnetic materials and magnetically actuated devices for wireless sensing, actuation, and energy harvesting toward implantable robotic systems for closed‐loop therapy.

The role of the fibreoptic bronchoscope in otorhinolaryngological practice [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Flexible fibreoptic bronchoscope has been employed in the examination of the nasopharynx, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchus and intrathoracic oesophagus under local anaesthesia. It is used either for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.

Application of Interventional Bronchoscopy in Pulmonary Peripheral Lesions

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2016
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. A low cure rate of lung cancer is not only attributed to intrinsic aggressive biological behavior, but also little attention to lung cancer screening.

Cascade‐Responsive MXene@Cu‐MOF Heterostructure Integrates Antioxidant Activity, Infection Control, and Vascularization for Tracheal Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 28, 18 May 2026.
A cascade‐responsive MXene@Cu‐MOF/GelMA hydrogel is engineered as a “skeleton–backpack” platform for extensive tracheal repair. The MXene framework scavenges postoperative ROS and converts NIR light into mild hyperthermia, while the Cu‐MOF component provides pH/NIR‐responsive Cu2+ dosing for infection control, angiogenesis, and chondrogenesis.

Treatment of Central Airway Stenosis With Self‐Expanding Y Stents: Easy and Innovative Technique With a Single Wire Guide

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 5, March 2026.
A single guidewire Seldinger technique enables accurate placement of a customized self expanding Y stent in malignant carinal stenosis. The wire stabilizes the left main bronchus, where carinal angles are more variable, allowing sequential deployment of the bronchial limbs followed by the tracheal limb.
