Successful ultrathin bronchoscopy with cryobiopsy for diagnosing and removing mucus plugs in allergic bronchopulmonary mycosis mimicking lung cancer

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports
Key message In patients presenting with abnormal pulmonary nodules, especially those with a history of asthma, allergic bronchopulmonary mycosis should be considered. Eosinophil counts and IgE levels should be checked in such patients.

Tunnel Vision: A Novel Approach for Blood Clot Retrieval Using Cryotherapy through a Flexible Bronchoscope

open access: yes, 2023
Cryoprobes inserted through a bronchoscope in the airways have frequently been used for the removal of foreign bodies and clots. We present a case of a 72-year-old man who presented with COVID-19 pneumonia and respiratory failure, requiring intubation ...

Experimental EBUS bronchoscope.

open access: yes, 2017
The sensor for electromagnetic tracking was attached close to the convex probe in the tip of the bronchoscope. The connector to the sensor (arrow) was plugged into the control unit of the electromagnetic tracking system.

A novel technique of airway silicon stent deployment under vision—Dr. Vidyasagar's technique

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports
The conventional methods of silicon stent insertion recommend usage of external loading devices, where the stent is folded into the loading device and pushed in to the tracheobronchial tree using an external pusher which is blind, and leads to placement ...

Kriobiopsije perifernih plućnih nodusa kod različitih modaliteta navigacijske bronhoskopije

open access: yesLiječnički vjesnik
Uvod: Periferni plućni nodusi (PPNs) mogu biti radiološka manifestacija ranog stadija tumora pluća, a patohistološka dijagnoza preduvjet je početka liječenja.

Transbronchial photodynamic therapy for peripheral lung cancer – A pilot study

open access: yesPhotodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy
Objectives: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an established treatment for centrally located early-stage lung cancer but remains limited for peripheral lung cancers in part due to restricted light penetration and the difficulty of precisely positioning ...

Fluoroscopy-assisted thoracoscopic resection of pulmonary nodules after computed tomography–guided bronchoscopic metallic coil marking

open access: yes, 2006
ObjectiveTo localize small and deeply situated pulmonary nodules during thoracoscopy with roentgenographic fluoroscopy, we developed a marking procedure that uses a metallic coil.MethodsNine patients underwent video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery for the

Telomerase modRNA Offers a Novel RNA‐Based Approach to Treat Human Pulmonary Fibrosis

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 24, Issue 11, November 2025.
Recombinant linear and circular hTERT mRNA restore telomerase activity in primary ATII cells and ex vivo lung tissue from patients with pulmonary fibrosis, leading to telomere elongation, reduced DNA damage, and decreased senescence and fibrosis markers.

In vitro optimization of miniature bronchoscope lentiviral vector delivery for the small animal lung

open access: yes, 2021
Published online: 11 Oct 2021Current gene therapy delivery protocols for small animal lungs typically utilize indirect dose delivery via the nasal airways, or bolus delivery directly into the trachea.

Engineered Anti‐Senescence Trachea With Post‐Transplanted Regenerative Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 36, September 25, 2025.
Bioengineered trachea undergoes post‐transplanted senescence, which is found in this study for the first time. Hebe‐ET is designed with dual anti‐senescence strategies: fiber‐film scaffold in cartilage rings for close‐packed cell interaction, and quercetin‐loaded fibrous rings for immune modulation.
