Wavelength Anomalies in Ultraviolet-Visible Spectrophotometry

Applied Spectroscopy, 2012
Spectral scans of atomic line emission sources with a Shimadzu UV2101PC spectrophotometer show that the nominal wavelength depends upon the instrumental slit width, the wavelength sampling interval, and for some slit widths, also on the specified spectral range.

Far Ultraviolet Solution Spectrophotometry

Applied Spectroscopy, 1973
Techniques and apparatus for extending conventional solution absorption spectrophotometry into the far uv region are discussed. The principal difficulties of spectroscopy in this region are reviewed. Applications and examples are given in inorganic, organic, and biological chemistry.

Infrared and ultraviolet spectrophotometry in residue evaluations

1964
In order to begin this discussion of infrared and ultraviolet spectrophotometry in residue evaluations, it is important to discuss briefly the broad field of spectrophotometry and to define the various regions of the electromagnetic spectrum of interest.

Homochromatic Spectrophotometry in the Extreme Ultraviolet

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1930
The d-log t curves of typical fast, medium, and slow emulsions when coated with oils fluorescing in the blue, near ultraviolet, and far ultraviolet respectively, have been studied in the region 900 to 5000 Angstroms by means of a vacuum spectrograph designed especially for photographic photometry, together with ordinary quartz spectrographs.

Ultraviolet–Visible Spectrophotometry

2018
UV–Vis spectrophotometry is routinely used in the quantitative chemical analysis of solutions. In this article, applications to solid-state spectroscopy are described. This method detects optical transmittance/reflectance, i.e., intensity ratios of the transmitted/reflected light from a sample to the incident monochromatic light in the visible and ...

Unusual Applications of Ultraviolet Spectrophotometry

Applied Spectroscopy, 1952
Ultraviolet spectrophotometry has demonstrated its usefulness in application to problems of identification and qualitative analysis, molecular structure studies, and quantitative analysis, even of multi-component systems. The ability to observe the spectra of ions in solution has been of great usefulness in molecular structure investigations and in the

Ultraviolet photometry and spectrophotometry of Algol

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1975
OAO-2 blue and UV light curves and spectrophotometric observations are used to establish effective temperatures and luminosities for the three components of the eclipsing Algol (beta Persei) system. An essentially complete energy distribution is given for Algol, and the fundamental properties - geometrical quantities, wavelength-dependent quantities ...
