PHYTOCHEMICAL STUDIES ON ULVA LACTUCA (L.) THURET FROM RED SEA COAST OF JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA
The chemical investigation of Ulva lactuca (L.) Thuret showed the presence of flavonoids, carbohydrates/glycosides, tannins, steroids, chlorides and sulphates, while free from alkaloids. Also, the free and combined sugars, amino acids, phenolic acids, fatty acids, hydrocarbons, sterols and minerals were analysed quantitatively.
