Avian Leukosis Virus Subgroup J (ALV‐J), a retrovirus of avian, has caused enormous economics losses to poultry industry around the world. Polysaccharides from marine algae are featured diversity bioactivities. To find the potential effect to prevent ALV‐J spread, in this study, polysaccharides from Ulva pertusa (UPPs) and four low molecular weight (Mw)

Abstract Stable isotope (SI) mixing models are one of the most common approaches used to infer resource pathways in consumers. However, SI‐based analyses are often underdetermined, and consumer SI fractionation is often unknown. The use of fatty acid (FA) biomarkers in mixing models offers an alternative approach that can resolve the underdetermined ...

Ulva shanxiensis(Ulvaceae), a New Species from Shanxi, China
Ulva shanxiensis L. Chen, J. Feng & S. L. Xie (Ulvaceae), a new species from Shanxi Province in northern China, is described, illustrated, and compared with its closest relatives. The taxon may be confused with U. prolifera O. F. Muller and U. intestinalis L., but is characterized by abundant spinal branches that end with a single-tier cell and more ...

A Summary of Reports of Ulvaceae (Chlorophyta) From Turkey*
A revised list of the taxa of the Ulvaceae occurring in Turkey is reported in this research. A total of 25 taxa of this family is herein reported from Turkey. Also, the transfers of four taxa of Enteromorpha to Ulva are proposed: Ulva intestinalis L. var. asexualis (Bliding) E. Taskin comb. nov. (Enteromorpha intestinalis var. asexualis Bliding, 1963),

Effects of spatial scale of sampling on food web structure
This study investigates whether commonly studied properties of network structure vary with spatial scale, using highly resolved empirical food webs for the marine intertidal of the Sanak Archipelago in the Eastern Aleutian Islands. We find through analyses using niche and power‐law scaling models that although raw structural properties of networks vary

Physiological and Biochemical Responses of Ulva prolifera and Ulva linza to Cadmium Stress
Responses of Ulva prolifera and Ulva linza to Cd2+ stress were studied. We found that the relative growth rate (RGR), Fv/Fm, and actual photochemical efficiency of PSII (Yield) of two Ulvaspecies were decreased under Cd2+ treatments, and these reductions were greater in U. prolifera than in U. linza. U. prolifera accumulated more cadmium than U.
