Diterpenes and umbelliferone derivatives from Haplopappus deserticola

open access: yesPhytochemistry, 1990
Abstract The aerial parts of Haplopappus deserticola afforded three ent -labdane and one labdane derivative as well as a nor - ent -labdane. Furthermore, in addition to three known umbelliferone derivatives, a dimeric coumarin was isolated. The structures were elucidated by high field 1 H NMR spectroscopy.

Enzymatic studies of glucuronide formation in impaired liver. II. Activating effect of boiled liver extract on liver glucuronide formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1962
The effect of the boiled liver extract on the velocity of 4-methyl umbelliferone lucuronide formation by mouse liver homogenate was studied. The results were as follows: 1.

Comparison of fluorogenic substrates for the detection of faecal indicator bacteria in water samples using a continuous fluorometric assay. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
At present standard methods employed for the microbiological monitoring of bathing waters require at least 18 hours to perform and are based on culturing techniques. This is a huge drawback when immediate action is required.

Mechanism and Application of Baker–Venkataraman O→C Acyl Migration Reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This literature review focuses on the O→C acyl migration of aryl esters to yield the corresponding 1,3-dicarbonyl products—a reaction known as the Baker–Venkataraman rearrangement—and outlines their subsequent transformations.

Umbelliferone aminoalkyl derivatives as inhibitors of human oxidosqualene-lanosterol cyclase

open access: yesJournal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, 2009
Human and murine lanosterol synthases (EC 5.4.99.7) were studied as targets of a series of umbelliferone aminoalkyl derivatives previously tested as inhibitors of oxidosqualene cyclases from other eukaryotes. Tests were carried out on cell cultures of human keratinocytes and mouse 3T3 fibroblasts incubated with radiolabeled acetate, and on homogenates ...

Bait formulations of molluscicides and their effects on biochemical changes in the ovotestis of snail Lymnaea acuminata (Mollusca; Gastropoda:Lymnaeidae)

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 2011
The effect of sub-lethal feeding of bait formulations containing molluscicidal component of Ferula asafoetida (ferulic acid, umbelliferone), Syzygium aromaticum (eugenol) and Carum carvi (limonene) on biochemical changes in the ovotestis of snail Lymnaea
