CD4+ Tregs Drive Post‐Ischemic Sprouting Angiogenesis via Endothelial YY1/MAML1 Reactivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microvascular complications of diabetes are chronic diseases of small vessels. We previously found that CD4+ regulatory T‐cells (Tregs) are markedly reduced in type 2 diabetes (T2D) after ischemic injury in both mice and humans, and that Treg deficiency in immunodeficient mice impairs vascular regeneration.

Hyperbolic Conservation Laws with Umbilic Degeneracy II

open access: yes, 2014
We continue to study hyperbolic systems of conservation laws with umbilic degeneracy. We further extend our compactness framework established earlier to other canonical classes of quadratic flux systems with an isolated umbilic point.

Combating VEGFA‐siRNA‐Induced Metabolic Reprogramming via Glucose Utilization Deprivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ionizable lipid nanoparticle co‐delivers VEGFA siRNA and glucose oxidase to tumors to counteract VEGFA knockdown‐induced, glutamine‐driven metabolic compensation. Enzymatic glucose consumption reverses the adaptive pathways and restores metabolism toward baseline, thereby sensitizing tumors to therapy.

Revisiting the Bonding Evolution Theory: A Fresh Perspective on the Ammonia Pyramidal Inversion and Bond Dissociations in Ethane and Borazane

open access: yes, 2023
This work offers a comprehensive and fresh perspective on the bonding evolution theory (BET) framework, originally proposed by Silvi and collaborators [J. Phys. Chem. A, 1997, 101, 7277–7282].

Ultrasound‐Activated Bifunctional Piezoelectric Hydrogel Dressings Promote Infected Wound Healing via Regulating Angiogenesis and Lymphangiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed a double‐network hydrogel with piezoelectric properties, exhibiting excellent antibacterial activity and promoting fibroblast migration, angiogenesis, and lymphangiogenesis through piezoelectric stimulation, thereby accelerating the healing of infected chronic wounds.

Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

Rigidity Result for Four Dimensional Willmore Submanifolds with Boundary

open access: yes, 2023
We establish a rigidity result for the critical points, with boundary, of a four dimensional Willmore energy. These critical points satisfy a 4-Willmore equation which is a sixth order nonlinear elliptic partial differential equation.

Surface Evolution Under Curvature Flows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In many areas of computer vision, such as multiscale analysis and shape description, an image or surface is smoothed by a nonlinear parabolic partial differential equation to eliminate noise and to reveal the large global features.
