Orderliness in Mining 4.0

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Mining of minerals is an important part of the technical sciences, for which the certainty and unambiguity of terms and the correct application of definitions is an absolute requirement.

Inflationary cosmology, a dissipative quantum field theory process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The current status of early universe cosmology can be summarized as precision, but inherently limited, data requiring explanation from precision and robust theory.

Unambiguous fermionic-string amplitudes

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1989
We show how to treat boundary divergences in heterotic string theory covariantly and unambiguously. The method applies even to theories with nonvanishing tadpoles; in this case the Fischler-Susskind mechanism sufficies to ensure well defined answers. Also n-point functions are well defined with no special string-tension renormalizations.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

The Contribution of Teaching Logic to Ethical Decision Making

open access: yesCommunications, 2017
Everyone makes many important decisions in one's life and these decisions are the result of one's thinking. However, in many critical situations one cannot find a solution.

Ambiguity of {\omega}-Languages of Turing Machines [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2014
An {\omega}-language is a set of infinite words over a finite alphabet X. We consider the class of recursive {\omega}-languages, i.e. the class of {\omega}-languages accepted by Turing machines with a B\"uchi acceptance condition, which is also the class

An Analytical Method for Tensor Visualization in a Plane

open access: yesMachines, 2022
The rendering of tensor glyphs is a progressive process of visualizing the vector space both in fluid dynamics and the latest medical scanning. Nowadays, the rendering accuracy is ensured by numerical methods based on interpolation of tensor functions ...

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

Aspect-Oriented Programming with Type Classes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We consider the problem of adding aspects to a strongly typed language which supports type classes. We show that type classes as supported by the Glasgow Haskell Compiler can model an AOP style of programming via a simple syntax-directed transformation ...
