Hybrid Power Quality Compensation System for Electric Railway Supplied by the Hypotenuse of a Scott Transformer

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
To solve the three-phase unbalance and reactive power problems in the electric railway power supply system, this paper proposes a Scott transformer based hypotenuse hybrid traction power system (Scott-HHPS).

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

A General Investigation on the Differential Leakage Factor for Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Multiphase Winding Design

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
This work provides an investigation based on a fast estimation of the degree of unbalance (D.U.%) and the differential leakage factor (σ0) of multiphase electrical machine windings.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

On the assessment of voltage unbalance

open access: yes, 2010
The management of voltage unbalance in a power system is supported by the knowledge on the contribution of a single unbalanced load/source to the total level of voltage unbalance observed at a Point of Common Coupling (PCC) in an interconnected power ...

An Improved Centralized Control Structure for Compensation of Voltage Distortions in Inverter-Based Microgrids

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Recently, increased use of non-linear loads has intensified the harmonic distortion and voltage unbalance in distribution systems. Inverter Based Distributed Generators (IBDGs) can be employed as distributed compensators to improve the power quality, as ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

A Direct Voltage Unbalance Compensation Strategy for Islanded Microgrids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, a control strategy with low bandwidth communications for paralleled three-phase inverters is proposed to achieve satisfactory voltage unbalance compensation.

Evaluation of overhead lines current unbalance in meshed grids and its reduction

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2018
This paper describes new methodology in the current unbalance calculations in meshed grids. The meshed grids, mainly the transmission ones, consist of more parts connected together which are formed using different conductor types, phase sequence ...
