Production and Characterization of Cnf and Lcnf, and Manufacture of Lcnf-nanostructured Packaging Papers

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2019
Nanotechnology applied to pulp and paper sector enables production of nanostructured papers with excellent strength properties. The addition of lignocellulose nanofibrils (LCNF) to traditional kraft pulps is an attractive alternative for production of ...

Ethanol Production from Hydrolyzed Kraft Pulp by Mono- and Co-Cultures of Yeasts: The Challenge of C6 and C5 Sugars Consumption

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Second-generation bioethanol production’s main bottleneck is the need for a costly and technically difficult pretreatment due to the recalcitrance of lignocellulosic biomass (LCB).

Bleached kraft pulp production from Pinus tecunumanii (Eguiluz e Perry) Produção de polpa kraft branqueada de Pinus tecunumanii (Eguiluz e Perry)

open access: yesRevista Árvore, 2005
The use of 12-year-old Pinus tecunumanii (Eguiluz e Perry) grown in Colombia was evaluated for bleached kraft pulp production. Kraft pulps of kappa number 30 ± 1 were produced, and oxygen delignified and bleached to 90% ISO with ECF processes.

Investigation on potential long fibre Pinus eldarica Kraft Pulp [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات علوم چوب و کاغذ ایران, 1998
Kraft pulping of Pinus eldarica wood was carried out at 18% active alkali, 25% sulphidity and pulping temperature & Time of 165 C and 90 minutes pulp was compared with imported unbleached long fibre pulp with the kappa number of 34.

INFLUÊNCIA DO CONTEÚDO DE XILANAS NA BRANQUEABILIDADE, PROPRIEDADES HIGROSCÓPICAS, FISICO-MECÂNICAS E ÓPTICA DE POLPAS BRANQUEADAS DE EUCALIPTO

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2015
Bleached eucalypt kraft pulps are widely used in print and writing (P&W) and tissue paper manufacture. Among the quality requirements of pulp for these papers, xylan content has been controversial.

Stellera chamaejasme Roots as Raw Material for Pulp Production

open access: yesBioResources, 2014
Cellulosic pulps were prepared from Stellera chamaejasme roots using soda, soda-anthraquinone (soda-AQ), and kraft pulping processes. S. chamaejasme is composed of 73.5% holocellulose, 39.7% α-cellulose, and 17.6% lignin, similar to wheat straw and other

Bleach boosting and direct brightening by multiple xylanase treatments during peroxide bleaching of kraft pulps [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The effects of multiple xylanase treatments were assessed during the peroxide bleaching of three pulps: Douglas-fir (kraft); Western hemlock (oxygen delignified kraft); and trembling Aspen (kraft).

Effect of particle size on the surface properties and morphology of ground flax

open access: yes, 2013
Flax fibers were ground with a ball-mill and four fractions with different size ranges were collected by sieving. These were tested for water sorption, degree of polymerization (DP), copper number, hydroxyl number and analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD),

From Hemp Bast to Lyocell Fiber: Sustainable Process Optimization for Lyocell‐Grade Dissolving Pulp

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 16, April 20, 2026.
This study presents a sustainable method to produce lyocell‐grade dissolving pulp from Canadian hemp bast fibers. A simplified alkali‐chelation‐bleaching process, free from sulfur and chlorine, yielded high α‐cellulose pulp with low lignin and hemicellulose content. The pulp was successfully spun into continuous hemp‐based lyocell fibers, demonstrating
