Photochromic Cholesteric Liquid Crystals via Arylazopyrazole Functionalization of Hydroxypropyl Cellulose

We produce a new derivative of hydroxypropyl cellulose functionalized with arylazopyrazole side chains and demonstrate its photoswitchable behaviors in dilute and concentrated aqueous solutions, ultimately designing a series of photochromic cholesteric materials that can be photopatterned as write‐erase displays.

This review highlights the integration of metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and two‐dimensional (2D) materials through dimensional interface engineering. By addressing intrinsic limitations like poor conductivity and agglomeration, these hybrid architectures optimize interfacial charge and mass transport.

Humid‐Air Condensation Heat Transfer on Hierarchical Structured Superhydrophobic Graphite Composites

Humid‐air condensation on graphite composites shows that making a surface superhydrophobic is not sufficient to enhance heat transfer. A hierarchical CuO/lauric‐acid coating yields spherical droplets but promotes Wenzel‐type pinning and adds effective thermal resistance under operation.

Ultrafast Photocatalytic Wettability Switching in Substrate‐Interface Tailored Titanium Dioxide Thin Films

This study demonstrates ultrafast photocatalytic wettability switching in TiO2 thin films by tailoring substrate doping and interface oxides. Enhanced switching rates and hemiwicking effects are achieved through optimized material stacks and nanostructuring.
