Analysis of Conditional Stability and Unconditional Stability and Instability for Microwave 3-Ports

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2022
A full and rigorous treatment of conditional and unconditional stability and instability for an active 3-port microwave circuit, represented at a given frequency by S-parameters, is carried out. By terminating a given port with a variable termination one may study at the input and the output of the resulting 2-port circuit the occurrence of ...

A Framework for Unconditional Stability Analysis of Multimaster/Multislave Teleoperation Systems

IEEE Transactions on Robotics, 2013
A novel robust stability analysis framework is presented for unconditional stability analysis of multimaster/multislave teleoperation systems. Unlike the unconditional stability criterion for single-user systems, the newly proposed criteria for unconditional stability of multimaster/multislave teleoperation systems depend on the multiport network ...

Unconditional Stability in Convection Computations

Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1979
A theoretical treatment of the numerical properties of a class of explicit schemes of the pure convection equation is presented. The von Neumann and Hirt analyses are used to show that unconditional stability and second-order accuracy are both possible within the framework of an explicit formulation.

Stabilizing unconditional cooperation

Proceedings of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences
The ultimate goal of research on the evolution of cooperation could be conceived as finding a method for stabilizing strategies that always cooperate, that never deviate from cooperation, that never exploit, and never retaliate, because all such activities are inherently problematic.

STABILITY OF UNCONDITIONAL SCHAUDER DECOMPOSITIONS IN SPACES

Bulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, 2015
We use the best constants in the Khintchine inequality to generalise a theorem of Kato [‘Similarity for sequences of projections’,Bull. Amer. Math. Soc.73(6) (1967), 904–905] on similarity for sequences of projections in Hilbert spaces to the case of unconditional Schauder decompositions in$\ell _{p}$spaces.

Unconditional nonlinear stability in penetrative convection

Geophysical & Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics, 1987
Abstract A nonlinear energy stability analysis is presented for the penetrative convection model of Veronis (1963). The critical Rayleigh number boundary determined here ensures nonlinear stability for arbitrary sized initial amplitudes, unlike the conditional results of Straughan (1985).

Unconditional Stability in Numerical Time Integration Methods

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1973
Methods of numerical time integration of the equation M¯q¨ + K¯q = f are examined in this paper. A particular class of explicit time integration methods is defined and this class is searched for an unconditionally stable method. The class is found to contain no such method and, furthermore, is found to contain no method with a larger stable time step ...
