On the unconditional stability of N-port networks
2014 44th European Microwave Conference, 2014This work reviews the topic of two-port unconditional stability (US) and fixes some misconceptions still common among high-frequency designers, notwithstanding the broad, relevant literature. Ohtomo's test for network stability is then presented in a synthetic form and linked to US conditions.

A Test for Unconditional Stability Based on Polynomial Convexification
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2020A theoretical analysis is carried out of the problem of checking the unconditional stability of a linear $N$ -port with arbitrary $N$ , explaining at length its inherent difficulties. To overcome the algebraic roadblock, an optimization-based method is proposed; the main novelty is that notwithstanding the use of optimization, the problem ...

Unconditional non‐linear stability for a fluid of third grade
Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2004AbstractThe thermal convection in a layer of a third grade fluid is investigated, with viscosity being a general function of temperature. We develop a non‐linear stability analysis and prove that unconditional non‐linear stability criterion is achieved using a natural energy approach.

Unconditional stability analysis of dual-user teleoperation systems
2010 IEEE Haptics Symposium, 2010A novel method is presented for unconditional stability analysis of dual-user teleoperation systems. The method is based on the application of Llewellyn's criterion to an equivalent two-port network of the system. Unlike unconditional stability of single-user systems which depends on the multi-port network parameters, the unconditional stability of ...

An algebra test for unconditional stability of linear delay systems
Proceedings of the 40th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.01CH37228), 2002Focuses on unconditional stability problems of a class of linear systems described by delay-differential equations with commensurate delays. An algebra test for unconditional stability of such systems is given. The proposed approach makes use of some results of the current study of complete discrimination systems.

Explicit Pseudodynamic Algorithm with Unconditional Stability
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 2002An unconditionally stable explicit pseudodynamic algorithm is proposed herein. This pseudodynamic algorithm can be implemented as simply as the very commonly used explicit pseudodynamic algorithms, such as the central difference method and the Newmark explicit method as reported in 1959. Thus, it can be used to perform pseudodynamic tests without using

Stability of unconditional convergence almost everywhere
Mathematical Notes of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, 1973We will investigate the properties of series of functions which are unconditionally convergent almost everywhere on [0, 1]. We will establish the following theorem: If the series σ k=1 ∞ f k(x) converges unconditionally almost everywhere, then there exists a sequence {Βk} 1

Unconditional Stability Boundaries of a Three-Port Network
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2010An analytical approach for acquiring the explicit expressions of the boundaries concerning the unconditional stability regions of a three-port network is presented. This approach begins with the expressions for the input reflection coefficients S 11 ' and S 22 ' at ports 1 and 2 of a three-port network having port 3 terminated with ?3 .

Unconditional stability for explicit pseudodynamic testing
Structural Engineering and Mechanics, 2004In this study, a newly developed unconditionally stable explicit method is employed to solve momentum equations of motion in performing pseudodynamic tests. Due to the explicitness of each time step this pseudodynamic algorithm can be explicitly implemented, and thus its implementation is simple when compared to an implicit pseudodynamic algorithm.

Unconditional stabilizers for nonminimum phase systems
1980The overall stability of certain self-adaptive systems has not been demonstrated until now, except in a few particular cases, generally limited to monovariable and/or minimum-phase systems. It is shown here that a large class of identification methods can be associated with a very large class of control methods in order to perform the unconditional ...
