A Compact Unconditionally Stable FDTD Method
IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2006A novel compact unconditionally stable finite-difference time-domain (US-FDTD) method is introduced. This method utilizes proper intermediate field components to simplify the original unconditionally stable Crank-Nicolson (CN) scheme. The unconditionally stability of the proposed compact US-FDTD method is analytically proven.

An analysis of an unconditionally stable explicit method
Computers & Structures, 1983Abstract Recently, several semi-implicit methods have been proposed for the time integration of the structural dynamics equations which are unconditionally stable yet explicit in their algorithmic structure. While these methods seem to violate the basic premise of the Courant requirement that the speed of information flow in the discrete model must ...

A Bound on the Scattering Parameters of Unconditionally Stable N-Ports
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2023Unconditionally stable 2-ports exhibit the peculiar property of mapping regions in the passive termination plane into smaller regions in the input plane. Such a contractive behavior is observed also when the number of ports, N, is larger than two, provided the notion of output region is appropriately adjusted.

An unconditionally stable hybrid pseudodynamic algorithm
Earthquake Engineering & Structural Dynamics, 1995AbstractThere is a significant motivation to implement an unconditionally stable scheme in the pseudodynamic test method. As more complex experiments with many degrees of freedom are tested, explicit time integration methods limit the size of time step on the basis of the highest natural frequency of the system. This is true even though the response of

Generally Unconditionally Stable Difference Operators
SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 1967u(x, 0) = uo(x), where P(D) is a partial differential operator of order p with respect to x with constant matrix coefficients. We shall study consistent difference operators of the form (2) v(x, t + k) = Eh,kv(x, t) = f(kP(ah))v(x, t), where f(z) is a rational function, h and k are the mesh-widths in x and t, respectively, and where ahV = (ah,lV, , ah ...

An unconditionally stable method for air motion inside cylinders
International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat & Fluid Flow, 1998A mixed implicit semi Lagrangian finite differenceāfinite volume method for numerical simulation of 2D air motion inside cylinders is derived and discussed. A conformal mapping from a physical (moving) domain to a computational (fixed) one is resorted in order to deal with a grid independent of time, making the numerical code very efficient.

Unconditionally stable formulation of the collocation method
Integrated Photonics Research, 1991We have earlier developed a method-the Collocation method for propagating beams or total fields through optical waveguiding structures1,2 which is numerically more efficient and capable of giving better accuracy in comparison to commonly used propagating beam method (PBM).

An unconditionally stable parallel difference scheme for parabolic equations
Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2003The paper deals with a new difference scheme towards solving parabolic equations. This scheme is stable and parallel. The approach is based on the overlapping domain decomposition. The unconditional stability and convergence of the scheme is proved.
