Unconditionally stable formulation of the collocation method

Integrated Photonics Research, 1991
We have earlier developed a method-the Collocation method for propagating beams or total fields through optical waveguiding structures1,2 which is numerically more efficient and capable of giving better accuracy in comparison to commonly used propagating beam method (PBM).

An unconditionally stable hybrid pseudodynamic algorithm

Earthquake Engineering & Structural Dynamics, 1995
AbstractThere is a significant motivation to implement an unconditionally stable scheme in the pseudodynamic test method. As more complex experiments with many degrees of freedom are tested, explicit time integration methods limit the size of time step on the basis of the highest natural frequency of the system. This is true even though the response of

An unconditionally stable method for air motion inside cylinders

International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat & Fluid Flow, 1998
A mixed implicit semi Lagrangian finite difference‐finite volume method for numerical simulation of 2D air motion inside cylinders is derived and discussed. A conformal mapping from a physical (moving) domain to a computational (fixed) one is resorted in order to deal with a grid independent of time, making the numerical code very efficient.

An unconditionally stable parallel difference scheme for parabolic equations

Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2003
The paper deals with a new difference scheme towards solving parabolic equations. This scheme is stable and parallel. The approach is based on the overlapping domain decomposition. The unconditional stability and convergence of the scheme is proved.

New unconditionally stable numerical schemes for Maxwell's equations

International Journal of Computational Science and Engineering, 2007
In this paper, some new unconditionally stable numerical schemes are constructed for the solution of Maxwell's equations. We show how the new methods fit into the series of unconditionally stable methods that have been developed recently. We test the methods on a simple 2D numerical example.
