High‐Responsivity and Fast‐Response Organic Phototransistor Based on Dinaphtho[2,3‐b:2′,3′‐f]Thieno[3,2‐b]Thiophene

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐temperature Al/Al2O3/DNTT/Au organic phototransistors fabricated on flexible PEN combine high responsivity to blue light (≈250 A W−1 at 39 nW cm−2) with detectable modulated photoresponse up to 150 kHz, making them promising for ultra‐low‐light sensing and moderate‐speed optical links.

Structure and Spectroscopic Characterisation of Phenanthroline‐Based Iodobismuthate(III) Complexes Utilised for Raw Acoustic Signal Classification

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Memristors based on trimethylsulfonium (phenanthroline)tetraiodobismuthate have been utilised as a nonlinear node in a delayed feedback reservoir. This system allowed an efficient classification of acoustic signals, namely differentiation of vocalisation of the brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula).

Exploiting Ferroelectric and Spintronic Dynamics for Neural Network Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric and spintronic devices, relying on the control of polarization and magnetization, offer intrinsically fast, durable, energy‐efficient, and low‐latency building blocks for analog in‐memory computing. The hysteretic dynamics of an order parameter are leveraged to provide nonvolatile, multistate memory and nonlinear switching. Brain‐inspired

First‐Principles Study of Structural, Mechanical, Electronic, Thermodynamical, and Optical Properties of XGaO2 (X = Rb and Cs): Unlocking Its Green Energy Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This study employs density functional theory (DFT) to investigate the structural, mechanical, electronic, optical, and thermodynamic properties of RbGaO2 and CsGaO2. The calculated band structures and band‐edge positions indicate semiconducting behavior and favorable alignment for photocatalytic dye degradation and hydrogen evolution, highlighting ...

Estimating the Cowper–Symonds Parameters for High-Strength Steel Using DIC Combined with Integral Measures of Deviation

open access: yesMetals
Cowper–Symonds parameters were estimated for the complex-phase high-strength steel with a commercial name of SZBS800. The parameter estimation was based on a series of conventional tensile tests and unconventional high-strain rate experiments.

3D modelling of geomaterials accounting for an unconventional plasticity approach

open access: yes, 2011
The coupled hydro-mechanical state in geomaterials undergoing plasticity phenomena is here evaluated by means of the subloading surface model . The most important feature of this theory is the abolition of the distinction between the elastic and plastic domain, as it happens in conventional elastoplastic models. This means that plastic deformations are

Form flows function: Learner‐centered game Re‐design in a STEM classroom

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Re‐designing games facilitates interest‐driven learning and immerses learners in systems thinking. However, there are limited studies exploring how the form and function of tabletop games influence learners' design decisions and learning experiences. To address this gap, we conducted a mixed‐methods study in a STEM classroom in western Canada.

Unconventional neurotransmitters, neurodegeneration and neuroprotection

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2009
Neurotransmitters are also involved in functions other than conventional signal transfer between nerve cells, such as development, plasticity, neurodegeneration, and neuroprotection.

Extended subloading surface model based on multiplicative finite strain elastoplasticity framework: constitutive formulation and fully implicit return-mapping scheme

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2017
This paper presents a finite strain elastoplastic constitutive model incorporating the extended subloading surface concept within the unconventional plasticity framework for cyclic loadings. This is a reformulated and extended version of the small strain
