Underground Plant Movement. V. Contractile Root Tubers and Their Importance to the Mobility of Hemerocallis fulva L. (Hemerocallidaceae)

The ornamental daylily, Hemerocallis fulva (Hemerocallidaceae), possesses a short, vertically oriented basal shoot packed with a circle of root tubers that are exhausted during sprouting after dormancy. During the growth period a new circle of root tubers is formed, enabling the plant to survive the next resting phase.

To provide guidance for quality control and variety breeding of Gastrodia elata f. glauca cultivated form in Zhaotong, nine agronomic traits of G. elata f. glauca cultivation form were measured and the traits were analyzed using multiple comparison,correlation analysis, multiple stepwise regression analysis and path analysis.
