A note on stability of the vertical uniform rotations of the heavy top

open access: yes, 2012
We prove that the stability problem of a vertical uniform rotation of a heavy top is completely solved by using the linearization method and the conserved quantities of the differential system which describe the rotation of the heavy ...

Uniformity and stability of the LSST focal plane [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomical Telescopes, Instruments, and Systems, 2019
The LSST focal plane consists of 21 autonomous modules ("Raft Tower Modules", RTM), each of which contains nine thick, fully-depleted 4K x 4K CCDs with associated control and readout electronics. To enable LSST's repetitive short-exposure cadence while maintaining high duty factor and low read noise, the readout is highly parallelized into 3024 ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Uniform stability of ranks

open access: yes
Chen and Ye recently proved that the analytic rank of tensors is stable under field extensions, assuming a fixed base field. Using a more careful analysis, we show that this assumption is unnecessary.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Predator-prey Activity-Tuned Ecological System: An Exhilarating Rollercoaster of Survival [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematical, Engineering and Management Sciences
In natural ecosystems, the timing of daily activity in predator and prey plays a crucial role in determining their encounters and evolutionary outcomes. This study explores how coevolution in circadian activity patterns emerges from the dynamic interplay

The influence of gyroscopic forces on the dynamic behavior and flutter of rotating blades [PDF]

open access: yes
The structural dynamics of a cantilever turbomachine blade mounted on a spinning and precessing rotor are investigated. Both stability and forced vibration are considered with a blade model that increases in complexity (and verisimilitude) from a spring ...

Ultra-sensitive transducer advances micro-measurement range [PDF]

open access: yes, 1964
An ultrasensitive piezoelectric transducer, that converts minute mechanical forces into electrical impulses, measures the impact of micrometeoroids against space vehicles.

Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
