Compact Hölder retractions and nearest point maps [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 2022
In this paper, two main results concerning uniformly continuous retractions are proved. First, an $\alpha$-H\"older retraction from any separable Banach space onto a compact convex subset whose closed linear span is the whole space is constructed for ...

Genericity of historic behavior for maps and flows [PDF]

open access: yesNonlinearity, 2021
We establish a sufficient condition for a continuous map, acting on a compact metric space, to have a Baire residual set of points exhibiting historic behavior (also known as irregular points).

Generalized Virtually Stable Maps and Their Associated Sequences

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces and Applications, 2013
We extend the concept of virtual stability of continuous self-maps to arbitrary selfmaps and investigate the structure of sequences associated with uniformly virtually stable selfmaps.

Ninety years of change on a low wooded island, Great Barrier Reef [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2019
We assess 90 years of change on a Low Wooded Island (Low Isles, Great Barrier Reef), employing drones and topographic profiling to accurately survey ramparts, mangroves, the reef flat and the sand cay.

Stable Convergence Theorems for Products of Uniformly Continuous Mappings in Metric Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesAxioms, 2021
We study the behavior of inexact products of uniformly continuous self-mappings of a complete metric space that is uniformly continuous and bounded on bounded sets. It is shown that previously established convergence theorems for products of non-expansive mappings continue to hold even under the presence of computational errors.

Uniformly Continuous Superposition Operators In The Space Of Functions Of Bounded n-Dimensional Φ-Variation

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2014
We prove that if a superposition operator maps a subset of the space of all metric-vector-space-valued-functions of bounded n-dimensional Φ-variation into another such space, and is uniformly continuous, then the generating function of the operator is an

Existence ofixed points for pointwise eventually asymptotically nonexpansive mappings

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2019
Kirk introduced the notion of pointwise eventually asymptotically non-expansive mappings and proved that uniformly convex Banach spaces have the fixed point property for pointwise eventually asymptotically non expansive maps.

Totally bounded remainders of uniform spaces and samuel compactification of uniformly continuous mappings [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2021
In this work we study totally bounded remainders of uniform spaces and Samuel compactification of uniformly continuous mappings.

Uniform Convergence and Transitive Subsets

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2012
Let (X,d) be a metric space and a sequence of continuous maps fn:X→X that converges uniformly to a map f. We investigate the transitive subsets of fn whether they can be inherited by f or not. We give sufficient conditions such that the limit map f has a

On the Nemytskii Operator in the Space of Functions of Bounded (p, 2, α)-Variation with Respect to the Weight Function

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2014
In this paper, we consider the Nemytskii operator (Hf)(t) = h(t, f(t)), generated by a given function h. It is shown that if H is globally Lipschitzian and maps the space of functions of bounded (p,2,α)-variation (with respect to a weight function α ...
