On the motion of mechanical systems with unilateral constraints

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 1984
The motion of the system with unilateral constraints being imposed may be divised into positions, so that in certain positions the constraint is taut and the motion occurs as if the constraint was bilateral and in other positions the constraint is not ...

A Control Structure for Unilateral System with Communication Rate Constraint

open access: yesSICE Journal of Control, Measurement, and System Integration, 2018
This study proposes a design method for unilateral control systems with communication rate constraints. In the case where it is necessary to control under a communication rate constraint, the effect of the quantization noise should be minimized using ...

Clinical significance of dynamical network indices of surface electromyography for reticular neuromuscular control assessment

open access: yesJournal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation, 2023
Background There is currently no objective and accurate clinical assessment of reticular neuromuscular control in healthy subjects or patients with upper motor neuron injury.

A Viscoelastic Contact Problem with Adhesion and Surface Memory Effects

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2014
We consider a mathematical model which describes the quasistatic contact between a viscoelastic body and an obstacle, the so-called foundation. The material's behavior is modelled with a constitutive law with long memory.

Analysis of a Unilateral Contact Problem with Normal Compliance

open access: yesAnnals of the West University of Timisoara: Mathematics and Computer Science, 2014
The paper deals with the study of a quasistatic unilateral contact problem between a nonlinear elastic body and a foundation. The contact is modelled with a normal compliance condition associated to unilateral constraint and the Coulomb's friction law ...

Multiobjective Codesign Optimization of a Planar Pneumatic Artificial Muscle‐Based Snake‐Like Robot for Enhanced Agility and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

A Toolkit for Targeted Neuromodulation of Striatal Direct Pathway Neurons Rescues Parkinsonian Motor Deficits in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An adeno‐associated virus (AAV) toolkit enables selective anatomical and functional targeting of striatal D1‐MSNs through retrograde transduction. Enhanced capsids and engineered enhancers drive robust transgene expression across murine and primate models.

Intertemporal solvency of Turkey’s current account [PDF]

open access: yesPanoeconomicus, 2012
We test for sustainability of Turkey’s current account position between 1987 and 2009 using the intertemporal solvency model of Craig S. Hakkio and Mark Rush (1991) and Steven Husted (1992).

Astrocytic Phenotypic Switching in Posterior Piriform Cortex Orchestrates Bone Cancer Pain–Depression Comorbidity via Purinergic–Noradrenergic Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bone cancer pain and depression share a common origin: astrocytic A2‐to‐A1 transition in the posterior piriform cortex. This phenotypic shift disrupts the ATP–adenosine–A2AR–norepinephrine axis, simultaneously driving nociceptive and affective dysfunction.
