Critical remarks on Religion in the public sphere' – Habermas between Kant and Kierkegaard

open access: yesEtikk i Praksis: Nordic Journal of Applied Ethics, 2009
This article provides a critical assessment of Habermas's recent work on religion and the role of religion in the public sphere by comparing it to Kant's philosophy of religion on the one hand and that of Kierkegaard on the other.

Strong Universality in Forced and Decaying Turbulence

open access: yes, 2003
The weak version of universality in turbulence refers to the independence of the scaling exponents of the $n$th order strcuture functions from the statistics of the forcing.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Universal Peptidomimetics [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2010
This paper concerns peptidomimetic scaffolds that can present side chains in conformations resembling those of amino acids in secondary structures without incurring excessive entropic or enthalpic penalties. Compounds of this type are referred to here as minimalist mimics.

Geometric Universality of Currents

open access: yes, 2010
We discuss a non-equilibrium statistical system on a graph or network. Identical particles are injected, interact with each other, traverse, and leave the graph in a stochastic manner described in terms of Poisson rates, possibly dependent on time and ...

Universality of Bayesian Predictions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Given the sequential update nature of Bayes rule, Bayesian methods find natural application to prediction problems. Advances in computational methods allow to routinely use Bayesian methods in econometrics.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Can Sigma Models Describe Finite Temperature Chiral Transitions?

open access: yes, 1994
Large-N expansions and computer simulations indicate that the universality class of the finite temperature chiral symmetry restoration transition in the 3D Gross-Neveu model is mean field theory.

Universality in snowflake aggregation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Aggregation of ice crystals is a key process governing precipitation. Individual ice crystals exhibit considerable diversity of shape, and a wide range of physical processes could influence their aggregation; despite this we show that a simple computer ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.
