Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Upper and lower solution method for Hilfer fractional evolution equations with nonlocal conditions

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2019
This paper is concerned with the existence of extremal mild solutions for Hilfer fractional evolution equations with nonlocal conditions in an ordered Banach space E.

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

The method of upper and lower solutions for Caratheodory n-th order differential inclusions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2004
In this paper, we prove an existence theorem for n-th order differential inclusions under Caratheodory conditions. The existence of extremal solutions is also obtained under certain monotonicity condition of the multi-function.

Upper and lower bounds of solutions for fractional integral equations [PDF]

open access: yesSurveys in Mathematics and its Applications, 2007
n this paper we consider the integral equation of fractional order in sense of Riemann-Liouville operator um(t) = a(t) Iα [b(t)u(t)]+f(t) with m ≥ 1, t ∈ [0, T], T < ∞ and 0< α

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Subharmonic solutions for nonlinear second order equations in presence of lower and upper solutions

open access: yesDiscrete & Continuous Dynamical Systems - A, 2013
We study the problem of existence and multiplicity of subharmonic solutions for a second order nonlinear ODE in presence of lower and upper solutions. We show how such additional information can be used to obtain more precise multiplicity results.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Second-order discontinuous problems with nonlinear functional boundary conditions on the half-line

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2018
We establish sufficient conditions for the existence of extremal solutions for a second-order problem on the half-line with discontinuous right-hand side and nonlinear boundary conditions.
