This article investigates the dependence of the properties on the manufacturing orientation in the form of the inclination angle to the build plate of LPBF‐fabricated NiTi rods with a diameter of 150–220 µm. Metallographic, chemical, thermal, and mechanical characterization show behavior under identical manufacturing conditions that ranges from ...

Self‐Cleaning Sensor Surfaces for Long‐Term Environmental Monitoring
Long‐term use of unattended outdoor sensors without soiling or biofouling is achieved through generation of a micro‐ and nanorough cuvette surface by combing hydrophobic nanoparticles with fluorinated polymers, crosslinked and surface‐attached through CHic chemistry. The coating demonstrates self‐cleaning behavior and prolonged outdoor stability, which

The Structure and Dynamics of Hot Jupiter Upper Atmospheres [PDF]
Gas giant exoplanets orbiting close to their parent stars (``hot Jupiters") experience radiation and stellar wind flux $\sim 10^4$ times higher than solar system giants. Energy deposited at high altitude heats and ionizes their upper atmospheres, where densities are sufficiently low that magnetic forces can dominate the dynamics of the gas --- physics ...

Validity on radar observation of middle- and upper-atmosphere dynamics [PDF]
Abstract Doppler radar observations have made a large contribution towards improving our understanding of middle- and upper-atmosphere dynamics. This radar echo is mainly due to radiowave scattering by atmospheric turbulence, which occurs almost universally throughout the atmosphere as a result of gravity wave (GW) breaking. In the strictness

Fabrication Routes for Ionic Conducting Fiber Strain Sensors
Ionic conducting fiber strain sensors (ICFSs) offer compliant, textile‐integrable sensing. Thus far, the commercialization of ICFSs has been constrained by fiber fabrication routes. This review provides a fabrication‐centric analysis of ICFSs correlating processing strategies with material properties and scalability.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.
