In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Primary upper pole liposarcoma of the kidney with invasion to inferior vena cava: A case report

open access: yesUrology Case Reports, 2019
Genitourinary tract liposarcoma is considered as the second most commonly reported type of sarcomas. Renal liposarcoma with tumor invasion to inferior vena cava (IVC) is distinctly rare.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Simultaneous radical cystectomy and nephroureterectomy: A case series

open access: yesSurgery in Practice and Science
Introduction: Simultaneous radical cystectomy and nephroureterectomy (RCNU) is a complex procedure. Although performed infrequently, RCNU may be indicated in certain cases of multifocal high grade urothelial carcinoma (UC) or muscle-invasive bladder ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Identification of functional murine mitochondrial formyl peptides and their effects on myeloid‐derived suppressor cell generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

CEO Narcissism, Subsidiary Top Management Team International Diversity, and Radical Digital Innovation in Multinational Enterprises

open access: yes
Drawing on the extended agency model of narcissism and upper echelons theory, we develop a theoretical framework that examines the interface between chief executive officers (CEOs) and foreign subsidiary top management teams (TMTs) and the radical ...

Dissociative Photodetachment of the Ethoxide Anion and Stability of the Ethoxy Radical CH3CH2O degrees

open access: yes, 2013
The ethoxy radical is an important species in combustion chemistry; however, considerable debate regarding the fragmentation pathways exists. In order to examine the stability and dissociation dynamics of the ethoxy radical in the two lowest electronic ...

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Stewart-Treves Syndrome after Bilateral Mastectomy and Radiotherapy for Breast Carcinoma: Case Report

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Breast Health, 2015
Stewart-Treves syndrome is an angiosarcoma that occurs because of chronic lymphedema, which in most cases is a complication after mastectomy with axillary node dissection and postoperative radiation. Prognosis for this rare tumor is poor.
