Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Comparative Sentencing Practice [PDF]

open access: yes, 1958
Uppsalas befintliga konstmuseum i Uppsala Slott har små och opraktiska lokaler. Uppsala Konstmuseis Vänner har därför lobbyat mot kommunen för att bygga ett nytt museum.

Angle-dependent normalization of neutron-proton differential cross sections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Systematic errors in the database of $np$ differential cross sections below 350 MeV are studied. By applying angle-dependent normalizations with the help of the energy-dependent Nijmegen partial-wave analysis PWA93 the $\chi^2$-values of some seriously ...

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.

Comment on the ‘Uppsala critique’

open access: yesEnergy Policy, 2014
AbstractThis paper discusses the criticisms of the IEA World Energy Outlook raised by Aleklett et al. (2010), often referred to as the ‘Uppsala critique’. The major argument of Aleklett et al. is that the rates of depletion, the ratio of annual production to remaining resources or reserves, assumed by the IEA in certain categories of fields are ...

Chirality and Organization of Adsorbates Modify Surface Phonon Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Chirality and molecular organization are shown to influence surface phonon dynamics in gold films. Time‐resolved Joule heating measurements reveal that ordered homochiral monolayers increase the Debye temperature and disordered layers reduce it, while ordered racemic controls have no effect.

Neutrino Physics: Theory and Phenomenology [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Various issues in neutrino phenomenology are reviewed, including: the possibility of large mixing angles in various models for neutrino masses, difficulties for degenerate neutrinos as candidates for hot dark matter, strategies for discriminating between

Coating Artificial Spider Silk Fiber with Magnetic FeCo: An Effective Strategy for Creating a Flexible Magneto‐Responsive Material

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An original method is presented for producing artificial spider silk fibers with magnetic and magnetomechanical responsiveness, which consists in coating them with a nanometer‐thick layer of FeCo alloy by sputtering deposition. The challenge of combining organic materials and inorganic magnetic nanostructures is addressed, thus taking a step forward ...
