Nitrogen Fertilization of No-Tillage Winter Cereals in the South-Central Region of Paraná, Brazil

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo, 2017
High winter cereal yields depend on an adequate supply of nitrogen (N). We developed a system for indicating N rates for wheat and barley in the South-Central region of the state of Paraná, Brazil, using results of 72 field experiments conducted from ...

Restoring Ureagenesis in Hepatocytes by CRISPR/Cas9-mediated Genomic Addition to Arginase-deficient Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Urea cycle disorders are incurable enzymopathies that affect nitrogen metabolism and typically lead to hyperammonemia. Arginase deficiency results from a mutation in Arg1, the enzyme regulating the final step of ureagenesis and typically results in ...

Facile Coating of Urea With Low-Dose ZnO Nanoparticles Promotes Wheat Performance and Enhances Zn Uptake Under Drought Stress

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) hold promise as novel fertilizer nutrients for crops. However, their ultra-small size could hinder large-scale field application due to potential for drift, untimely dissolution or aggregation.

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...

Evaluation of biochemical markers of kidney function in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism in comparison with euthyroid people

open access: yesJournal of Family Medicine and Primary Care, 2020
Background: Subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) as a compensated or preclinical type of primary and overt hypothyroidism (OHT) can affect approximately 4–10% of the general population.

Urea Amidolyase

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1972
Abstract The ATP-dependent cleavage of urea, catalyzed by urea amidolyase, occurs in two steps: (a) urea + ATP + HCO3- (Mg++, K+)/⇌ allophanate + ADP + Pi; and (b) allophanate → 2 HCO3- + 2 NH4+. The enzyme, purified approximately 150-fold from extracts of Candida utilis, contains high levels of covalently bound biotin and is very sensitive to ...

Tonic signaling of the B‐cell antigen‐specific receptor is a common functional hallmark in chronic lymphocytic leukemia cell phosphoproteomes at early disease stages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...

Aproveitamento pela cana-de-açúcar da adubação nitrogenada de plantio Utilization by sugar cane of nitrogen applied at planting

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo, 2008
O balanço de 15N de fontes nitrogenadas no sistema solo-planta tem sido de muita valia em estudos das transformações do N em diferentes agroecossistemas.

Effect of Urea and Distillers Inclusion in Dry- Rolled Corn Based Diets on Heifer Performance and Carcass Characteristics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Crossbred heifers (n=96, BW = 810 ± 20) were utilized to evaluate the effects of increasing wet distillers grains plus solubles and urea inclusion in a dry rolled corn based finishing diet on performance and carcass characteristics.

Association of high‐dose radioactive iodine therapy with PPM1D‐mutated clonal hematopoiesis in older individuals

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In thyroid cancer patients, high‐dose (≥7.4 GBq) radioactive iodine therapy (RAIT) was associated with a higher prevalence of clonal hematopoiesis (variant allele frequency >2%) in individuals aged ≥50 years (OR = 2.44). In silico analyses showed that truncating PPM1D mutations conferred a selective advantage under these conditions.
