Effects of 4R nitrogen management on corn silage production

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 118, Issue 6, November/December 2026.
Abstract Nitrogen (N) is one of the critical and costliest inputs for corn silage (Zea mays) production. Excessive N applications decrease profits for growers via increased cost of production and raise environmental concerns. The four core principles of the 4R nutrient stewardship framework—right source (S), right rate (R), right time (T), and right ...

Marked Hypergastrinemia and Extreme Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate Elevation in Autoimmune Atrophic Gastritis with Severe Iron Deficiency Anemia: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Autoimmune atrophic gastritis causes loss of oxyntic glands, reduced acid secretion, compensatory hypergastrinemia, and impaired iron and vitamin B12 absorption. A 46‐year‐old woman with minimal gastrointestinal symptoms had fasting serum gastrin > 1800 ng/L, an erythrocyte sedimentation rate of 109 mm/h, hemoglobin 8.2 g/dL, and microcytosis.

Novel Carbazole–Acylthiourea Derivatives: Synthesis, Antimicrobial, Antioxidant, Hemocompatibility, Cytotoxicity, and ADME‐Tox Profiling

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2026.
We synthesized four novel carprofen‐derived carbazole–acylthiourea propanamides with selective antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, and Candida albicans. Compound 1a provides combined antioxidant and antihemolytic protection.

Combating Campylobacter Resistance in Moroccan Poultry Using Essential Oil–Ciprofloxacin Combination

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 6, November 2026.
With an estimated prevalence of 15.52% in Moroccan poultry, Campylobacter species pose a significant food safety concern. We investigated whether essential oils (EOs) could restore the efficacy of ciprofloxacin against multidrug‐resistant (MDR) strains.

Molecular Prevalence and Antimicrobial Resistance Patterns of Methicillin‐Resistant Staphylococcus aureus in Buffaloes from Bangladesh

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 6, November 2026.
Nasal swabs collected from 400 buffaloes were analysed to determine the prevalence, antimicrobial resistance and virulence characteristics of Staphylococcus aureus and MRSA. MRSA isolates exhibited extensive multidrug resistance and harboured multiple resistance and virulence genes, highlighting their pathogenic and zoonotic potential.

The Paediatric BCG Vaccine Century: From Historical Success to Future Innovations

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, Volume 115, Issue 11, Page 2433-2440, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim The tuberculosis (TB) vaccine, Bacille‐Calmette‐Guérin (BCG), protects infants against severe forms of primary TB. Yet, it does not protect against pulmonary reactivation TB in adults. Methods A literature review was conducted between 1st January and 28th February 2025 using PubMed, Google Scholar and reports of the World Health ...

Monoclonal antibodies against the native urease of Helicobacter pylon: synergistic inhibition of the urease activity by monoclonal antibodies combinations. Infect. Immun

open access: yes, 1992
Monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) against the native urease of Helicobacter pylori NCTC 11637 were found to clearly inhibit the urease activity. Interestingly, synergistic inhibition by two MAbs recognizing different subunits was also observed.

Biochar Mitigates N2O and NH3 Emissions for Organic and Inorganic Fertilizers in an Austrian Field Experiment

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Soil Science, Volume 77, Issue 6, November–December 2026.
ABSTRACT Biochar is a promising soil management strategy to reduce reactive nitrogen (Nr) losses from agricultural soils, and replacing mineral fertilizers with organic amendments (OAs) can improve soil health and enhance nutrient recycling. We conducted a three‐year field experiment with maize (Zea mays) in Lower Austria to compare organic waste ...
