Robot-assisted excision of partially obstructing ureteral fibroepithelial polyp in a child: A case report and review of the literature

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports, 2022
Background: Fibroepithelial polyps are benign tumors located in the upper ureter and ureteropelvic junction. Given their location in rare cases they can cause hydronephrosis.

Single‐Cell Dissection of the Biological Function and Molecular Features Underlying the Micropeptide LSMEM1 in Kidney

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LSMEM1, an evolutionarily conserved micropeptide with extreme hydrophobicity (aliphatic index═113) and dynamic amphiphilicity (GRAVY═0.017), features a strong α‐helical transmembrane anchor (residues 64‐86). Single‐cell analysis reveals its critical role in renal lipid homeostasis.

Scintigraphy and Doppler ultrasonography for the evaluation of obstructive urinary calculi [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Forty-seven patients with unilateral obstructive calculi (12 males and 35 females) were submitted to 99mTc-diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA) or 99mTc-dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) scans for assessment of renal function.

NLRP3 Deficiency Attenuates Renal Fibrosis and Ameliorates Mitochondrial Dysfunction in a Mouse Unilateral Ureteral Obstruction Model of Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2017
Background and Aims. The nucleotide-binding domain and leucine-rich repeat containing PYD-3 (NLRP3) inflammasome has been implicated in the pathogenesis of chronic kidney disease (CKD); however, its exact role in glomerular injury and tubulointerstitial ...

Mapping the Tissue‐of‐Origins of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells in Injury Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study maps mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) across multiple tissues, revealing that bone marrow–derived MSCs mobilize monocytes via CCL2 to promote systemic inflammation but do not migrate to distant organs to form fibrotic or tumor stroma. Instead, local MSCs dominate tissue remodeling, suggesting a “two‐hit” model linking systemic inflammation ...

Laparoscopic ureterolysis with simultaneous ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephroscopy for treating complex ureteral obstruction after failed endoscopic intervention: A technical report

open access: yesAsian Journal of Urology, 2015
Objective: Complex ureteral obstruction is refractory to conventional urological intervention. This report describes a case of laparoscopic ureterolysis with simultaneous ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephroscopy for treating complex ureteral obstruction.

Ureteroiliac artery fistula caused by full-length metallic ureteral stenting in a malignant ureteral obstruction: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2020
Background The metallic stent is a new device for relieving the urinary tract in patients with malignant ureteral obstruction with short life expectancy and has been used frequently worldwide for its efficacy and safety.

Use of percutaneous nephrostomy and ureteral stenting in management of ureteral obstruction.

open access: yesWorld Journal of Nephrology, 2016
The management options for ureteral obstruction are diverse, including retrograde ureteral stent insertion or antegrade nephrostomy placement, with or without eventual antegrade stent insertion.

Under‐Urine‐Adhered Supramolecular Hydrogel with Linearly Sustained Quercetin Release Facilitates Hemorrhagic Cystitis Healing via Inflammation Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A supramolecular gelatin‐based hydrogel adhesive was engineered for hemorrhagic cystitis management. It provides robust wet‐tissue adhesion, rapid hemostasis, sustained quercetin release, effectively restoring the bladder barrier via anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant actions.
