USE OF THE NEWER URICOSURIC AGENTS IN THE MANAGEMENT OF GOUT
JAMA, 1960Zoxazolamine in doses up to 125 mg., administered to patients with gout, increased the urinary excretion of uric acid and lowered the serum urate level. In some patients increasing the dosage to 250 mg. intensified these effects to the point of causing a urate crystalluria.

Ticrynafen: a novel uricosuric antihypertensive natriuretic agent.
Archives of internal medicine, 1978Interest in new diuretics with less side effects has led to the synthesis of ticrynafen, an uricosuric diuretic. This agent was compared with hydrochlorothiazide in a crossover design study involving 12 hypertensive men. Both agents significantly decreased mean arterial pressure from 8% to 18% in eight of the 12 patients.

The Activity of AA-193, A New Uricosuric Agent, in Animals
1989A new uricosuric agent, 5-chloro-7,8-dihydro-3-phenylfuro[2,3-g]-1,2-benzisoxazole-7-carbo xylic acid (AA-193), was compared with other uricosurics in the rat, mouse and cebus monkey. In rats, probenecid and tienilic acid increased the urate excretion, but benzbromarone did not have the uricosuric activity.
