Effects of substituting uridine triphosphate for ATP on the crossbridge cycle of rabbit muscle
1. Substituting uridine triphosphate (UTP) for ATP as a substrate for rabbit skeletal myosin and actin at 4 degrees C slowed the dissociation of myosin-S1 from actin by threefold, and hydrolysis of the nucleotide by sevenfold, without a decrease in the rates of phosphate or uridine diphosphate dissociation from actomyosin. 2.

Bacillus anthracis Edema Factor Substrate Specificity: Evidence for New Modes of Action [PDF]
Since the isolation of Bacillus anthracis exotoxins in the 1960s, the detrimental activity of edema factor (EF) was considered as adenylyl cyclase activity only.

Contractile effects of uridine 5′‐triphosphate in the rat duodenum [PDF]
Previous studies have shown that the rat duodenum relaxes to adenosine and adenosine 5′‐triphosphate (ATP) via Pi and P2Y purinoceptors respectively, but in preliminary studies uridine 5′‐triphosphate (UTP) was found to contract this tissue. The non‐selective P2 antagonist suramin and a number of nucleotides were therefore used to investigate this ...

Depletion of cytidine triphosphate as a consequence of cellular uridine triphosphate deficiency [PDF]
The synthesis of CTP from UTP, catalyzed by CTP synthetase (EC 6.3.4.2), would imply that severe UTP deficiency causes a reduction of cellular CTP synthesis followed by a decrease in CTP pools. By contrast, UTP depletion induced by D-galactosamine in rat liver in vivo has been shown to be associated with a 2-fold increase in the hepatic content of CTP [

Uridine 5′-Triphosphate Stimulates Alveolar Fluid Clearance in the Isolated Rat Lungs
Uridine 5′-triphosphate (UTP) increases chloride secretion followed by fluid movement into the proximal airspaces. However, little is known about whether UTP affects fluid movement in the distal airspaces.

RNA plays a crucial role in biochemical processes. RNAs with abasic sites (AP-RNA), as one of RNA lesions, will cause serious negative consequences. Efficient and sensitive detection of AP-RNA deserves but does not receive enough attention. Water-soluble
