Structural analysis of the NifL‐NifA complex reveals the molecular basis of anti‐activation of nitrogen fixation gene expression in Azotobacter vinelandii

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Using cryo‐EM combined with biochemical and genetic approaches, we mapped the interaction surface between NifL and NifA to gain insights into the regulation of nitrogen fixation genes in A. vinelandii. Our findings suggest that NifL, a homolog of histidine kinases lacking phosphorylation activity, evolved to act as a steric block of NifA activity ...

Affinity chromatography using 2′ fluoro-substituted RNAs for detection of RNA-protein interactions in RNase-rich or RNase-treated extracts

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2009
Use of RNA affinity chromatography is commonly used to identify RNA binding proteins that interact with specific RNA cis-elements that function in post-transcriptional gene regulation.

An OGT Missense Variant With Impaired Enzyme Activity in a Child With Severe Developmental Delay and Hepatoblastoma

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 200, Issue 2, Page 502-510, February 2026.
ABSTRACT O‐GlcNAc transferase (OGT) and its antagonist O‐GlcNAcase (OGA) regulate protein O‐GlcNAcylation, a highly conserved post‐translational modification involved in metabolic sensing. Pathogenic variants in the OGT gene cause an X‐linked congenital disorder of glycosylation (OGT‐CDG) presenting developmental delay, hypotonia, intellectual ...

Failure of dideoxynucleosides to inhibit human immunodeficiency virus replication in cultured human macrophages. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Primary human monocyte-derived macrophages (MDM) were shown to have diminished deoxynucleoside kinase activities compared to T lymphoblasts, and a reduced ability to phosphorylate dideoxynucleosides with anti-human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) activity ...

Identification of atropine-and P2X1 receptor antagonist-reistant, neurogenic contractions of the urinary bladder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Acetylcholine and ATP are excitatory cotransmitters in parasympathetic nerves. We used P2X1 receptor antagonists to further characterize the purinergic component of neurotransmission in isolated detrusor muscle of guinea pig urinary bladder.

Adenosine Triphosphate: Uridine Monophosphate-Cytidine Monophosphate Phosphotransferase from Tetrahymena pyriformis

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1969
Abstract An enzyme that synthesizes uridine diphosphate from uridine monophosphate and adenosine triphosphate has been purified 300-fold from Tetrahymena pyriformis. The enzyme also converts cytidine monophosphate to cytidine diphosphate and deoxycytidine monophosphate to deoxycytidine diphosphate.

Combining Correlative Cryogenic Fluorescence and Electron Microscopy and Correlative Cryogenic Super‐Resolution Fluorescence and X‐Ray Tomography—Novel Complementary 3D Cryo‐Microscopy Across Scales to Reveal Nanoparticle Internalization Into Cancer Cells

open access: yesMicroscopy Research and Technique, Volume 89, Issue 2, Page 260-272, February 2026.
A newly established 3D correlative cryogenic fluorescence microscopy, focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy, and soft x‐ray tomography workflow allowed for enough contrast and resolution to quantify the intracellular uptake of zirconyl‐containing inorganic–organic hybrid nanoparticles as a novel chemotherapeutic drug delivery system into ...

Optimization of an in vitro transcription/translation system based on Sulfolobus solfataricus cell lysate. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A system is described which permits the efficient synthesis of proteins in vitro at high temperature. It is based on the use of an unfractionated cell lysate (S30) from Sulfolobus solfataricus previously well characterized in our laboratory for ...

RNA‐Lebendzellmikroskopie via click‐funktionalisierter TriPPPro Nucleotid‐Reporter

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 2, 9 January 2026.
