Comprehensive optimization of urinary exfoliated tumor cells tests in bladder cancer with a promising microfluidic platform

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 12, Issue 6, Page 7283-7293, March 2023., 2023
In this study we use our novel CytoBot device for detecting urinary exfoliated tumor cells (UETCs) in the urine of bladder cancer patients. CytoBot specifically captures UETCs based on cell size and epithelial cell surface markers, which is verified via fluorescence microscopy.

Review and update of a Nutrient Transfer model used for estimating nitrous oxide emissions from complex grazed landscapes, and implications for nationwide accounting

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, Volume 51, Issue 5, Page 930-940, September/October 2022., 2022
Abstract In New Zealand, nitrous oxide emissions from grazed hill pastures are estimated using different emission factors for urine and dung deposited on different slope classes. Allocation of urine and dung to each slope class needs to consider the distribution of slope classes within a landscape and animal behavior.

Prospective evaluation of lipid management following acute coronary syndrome in non‐Western countries

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 44, Issue 7, Page 955-962, July 2021., 2021
Abstract Background Half the global burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD) is concentrated in the Asia‐Pacific (APAC) region. Hypothesis Suboptimal control of low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL‐C) may play a large role in the burden of CVD in APAC and non‐Western countries.

Efficacy and safety of 0.0584% hydrocortisone aceponate topical spray and systemic oclacitinib combination therapy in dogs with atopic dermatitis: a randomized, double‐blinded, placebo‐controlled trial

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 32, Issue 2, Page 119-e25, April 2021., 2021
Background – Oclacitinib is an effective systemic therapy for dogs with atopic dermatitis (AD). Few studies have evaluated concurrent topical treatment with oclacitinib in dogs. Objectives – To evaluate the efficacy and safety of combination therapy of oclacitinib and 0.0584% hydrocortisone aceponate (HCA) spray in dogs with AD.

Aerococcus urinae – A potent biofilm builder in endocarditis [PDF]

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2020
The diagnosis of infective endocarditis (IE) remains a challenge. One of the rare bacterial species recently associated with biofilms and negative cultures in infective endocarditis is Aerococcus urinae. Whether the low number of reported cases might be due to lack of awareness and misidentification, mainly as streptococci, is currently being discussed.

Necrotizing Urethritis due toAerococcus urinae [PDF]

open access: yesCase Reports in Urology, 2015
A 49-year-old male presented to the emergency with hematuria and pain in the shaft of the penis for one day. The patient was found to be in a state of shock. The shaft of the penis and the scrotum were swollen and tender. No skin necrosis was observed and no crepitus was palpable. Serum white count (WBC) was 29.5 × 103/μL.

ZDRAVLJENJE OBSTRUKCIJE ODTOKA URINA
