Novel DMD Frameshift Variant (p.Leu2017Profs*5) in Spectrin‐Like Repeat 16 Expands the Mutational Spectrum of DMD

open access: yesMolecular Genetics &Genomic Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
A novel DMD frameshift variant (c.6050_6051del; p.Leu2017Profs*5) causes a 2‐bp deletion in exon 42, leading to frameshift, premature truncation, and disruption of spectrin‐like repeat 16 architecture. ABSTRACT Background Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is an X‐linked neuromuscular disorder caused by pathogenic variants in the DMD gene, which encodes

Granulosa Cell Tumour in a Spayed Cat With Ovarian Remnant Syndrome and Hyperestrogenaemia Without Estrus Signs

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Granulosa cell tumour arising from ovarian remnant tissue can occur in spayed cats without overt estrus signs, despite marked hyperestrogenaemia. In this case, CT showed a large abdominal mass contiguous with ovarian vasculature; surgery and histopathology confirmed granulosa cell tumour with hepatic metastasis.

Genomic and Sex Contributions to Interindividual Variability in Pitavastatin Bioavailability

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 139, Issue 1, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim This study investigates pharmacogenetic determinants of pitavastatin disposition using a candidate‐gene approach. Methods In 48 healthy volunteers, 138 variants across 40 genes involved in drug metabolism and transport were analysed to assess their relationship with pitavastatin pharmacokinetics, alongside the influence of sex and ...

Efficacy and Safety of Lianhua Qingke Tablets in Children With Mycoplasma pneumoniae Pneumonia: A Randomized, Double‐Blind, Multicenter, Placebo‐Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesThe Clinical Respiratory Journal, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
In this randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled trial involving 160 children with mild Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia, adding Lianhua Qingke tablets to conventional therapy significantly improved symptom resolution by Day 7 (85.9% vs. 65.6%) and shortened median recovery time (4.5 vs.
