Adverse prognosis gene expression patterns in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We aggregated a cohort of 1012 mCRPC tissue samples from 769 patients and investigated the association of gene expression‐based pathways with clinical outcomes. Loss of AR signaling, high proliferation, and a glycolytic phenotype were independently prognostic for poor outcomes, and an adverse transcriptional feature score incorporating these pathways ...

Development of a Novel Robot for Transperineal Needle Based Interventions: Focal Therapy, Brachytherapy and Prostate Biopsies [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Urology 188 (2012) 1369-1374, 2012
Purpose: We report what is to our knowledge the initial experience with a new 3-dimensional ultrasound robotic system for prostate brachytherapy assistance, focal therapy and prostate biopsies. Its ability to track prostate motion intraoperatively allows it to manage motions and guide needles to predefined targets.

Aberrant expression of nuclear prothymosin α contributes to epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nuclear prothymosin α inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung cancer by increasing Smad7 acetylation and competing with Smad2 for binding to SNAI1, TWIST1, and ZEB1 promoters. In early‐stage cancer, ProT suppresses TGF‐β‐induced EMT, while its loss in the nucleus in late‐stage cancer leads to enhanced EMT and poor prognosis.

The influence of online posting dates on the bibliometric indicators of scientific articles [PDF]

open access: yesECHEVERRIA, Mercedes; STUART, David; CORDON-GARCIA, Jose Antonio (2017). The influence of online posting dates on the bibliometric indicators of scientific articles. Revista espanola de Documentacion Cientifica, v. 40, n. 3, p. e183, 2018
This article analyses the difference in timing between the online availability of articles and their corresponding print publication and how it affects two bibliometric indicators: Journal Impact Factor (JIF) and Immediacy Index. This research examined 18,526 articles, the complete collection of articles and reviews published by a set of 61 journals on

Metabolic Reprogramming of Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts: Transforming Tumor Accomplices into Immunotherapeutic Allies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 13, March 25, 2025.
This study presents an FAP‐targeted LNP system designed to selectively target CAFs in CRPC. By inhibiting hexokinase 2 (HK2) and mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase I (MTCO1), CAFs are reprogrammed from tumor‐promoting cells to immune‐supportive allies. This dual inhibition enhances T cell infiltration, suppresses angiogenesis, and improves the efficacy
