This single‐centre, randomized controlled trial showed that simulated daylight photodynamic therapy (SDL‐PDT, n = 785 lesions) was less effective than conventional photodynamic therapy (C‐PDT, n = 673 lesions) in treating mild to moderate actinic keratoses with 1‐year clearance rates of 71.0% for SDL‐PDT versus 85.3% for C‐PDT (p < 0.001). However, SDL‐

ABSTRACT Objective To assess how the CIE white LED illuminants and substrate shade impact the color inconstancy of high‐translucency CAD/CAM materials. Materials and Methods From the spectral reflectance factors of Lava Ultimate‐LU, Grandio blocks‐GB, VITA Enamic‐VE, and VITA Mark II‐M specimens (n = 3/material) measured on nine background shades (ND1 ...

Summary The interplay of daily life factors, including mood, physical activity, or light exposure, influences sleep architecture and quality. Laboratory‐based studies often isolate these determinants to establish causality, thereby sacrificing ecological validity.

The left panel reports the measured time course data of melatonin concentration in the blood plasma of 17 BL‐Rs and 15 BL‐NRs at baseline, during a two‐hour stay in the dark, during a one‐hour light exposure to blue light, and again in the dark. The right panel shows the magnitude of melatonin concentration after 60 min of exposure to warm white, cool ...

Use of illuminance as a guide to effective light delivery during daylight photodynamic therapy in the U.K. [PDF]
Daylight PDT (dPDT) is an effective and nearly painless treatment for field-change actinic keratosis. Measuring the protoporphyrin-IX (PpIX)-weighted exposure dose can give an indication of when conditions are most viable for effective dPDT. It would be advantageous for practitioners if more detailed information of exposure dose and appropriate ...

Moonlight Duration and Intensity Favour Nocturnal Activity in a Diurnal Desert Bird
Accelerometer data show that Canarian houbara bustards increase nocturnal activity two‐ to fivefold when the moon is visible, with activity rising as moonlit duration and illumination increase. Both display and non‐display behaviours peaked around full moon, reaching up to half of peak daytime levels, with males increasing visual displays during ...

ABSTRACT Objective The International Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS) is widely used for early caries detection but relies on visual interpretation. Although spectrophotometry objectively quantifies tooth color, variation across ICDAS categories and its relationship with lesion severity remain unclear. The present in vitro study therefore

ABSTRACT The present study investigates the impact of two missense SNPs in the human melanopsin gene OPN4 ‐I394T (rs1079610) and P10L (rs2675703)‐ on non‐image‐forming (NIF) physiological and behavioural outputs in healthy young adults under real‐world conditions.

The Effects of Suspended Sediments, Dye, and Their Variation on Fish Behavior
Human activities are affecting the visual environments of freshwater ecosystems by introducing visual pollutants such as artificial dyes and elevated suspended sediment levels. Our research shows that dyes and suspended sediments can have contrasting effects of fish behavior, with dye increasing and sediments decreasing movement.
