CMIP6 models informed summer human thermal discomfort conditions in Indian regional hotspot

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
The frequency and intensity of extreme thermal stress conditions during summer are expected to increase due to climate change. This study examines sixteen models from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) that have been bias-adjusted ...

UCanWBGT: urban street canyon heat stress calculation for weather and climate models

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
This work introduces UCanWBGT, a new model to calculate wet‐bulb globe temperature in an urban environment, suitable for use with weather and climate model data. We present the model, then verify its performance against observations made in the streets of Paris during heatwave conditions.

UTCI as the NWP model ALADIN (CHMI) output – first experiences

open access: yesGeographia Polonica, 2021
The article includes a summary of basic information about the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) calculation by the numerical weather prediction (NWP) model ALADIN of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI). Examples of operational outputs for weather forecasters in the CHMI are shown in the first part of this work.

The Sudakov form factor at four loops in maximal super Yang-Mills theory

open access: yes, 2018
The four-loop Sudakov form factor in maximal super Yang-Mills theory is analysed in detail. It is shown explicitly how to construct a basis of integrals that have a uniformly transcendental expansion in the dimensional regularisation parameter, further ...

Fragmentation Across Scales, Geography, and Climate Challenges in European Urban Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Research: A Bibliometric and Systematic Review

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT European urban climate change research lacks integration across scales, geography, and climate challenges, despite Europe's coordinated policy frameworks. Through a hybrid bibliometric and systematic review of 1528 studies (2010–2025) using Cortext Manager and PRISMA 2020 guidelines, this study maps the conceptual patterns, knowledge gaps, and

Heat and Cold Waves in Brazil: An ERA5‐Based Analysis of Trends and Seasonality (1980–2024)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 6, May 2026.
This study uses ERA5 reanalysis data to assess changes in extreme heat and cold events across Brazil from 1980 to 2024. Results reveal a sharp increase in heatwave frequency and a general decline in coldwave occurrences, though regional variations are substantial.

Variability of UTCI index in South Warsaw depending on atmospheric circulation [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Climatology, 2017
The aim of the study is the assessment and analysis of the variability of human-bioclimatic conditions in southern part of Warsaw, depending on the atmospheric circulation in the long-term (1998–2015). The Universal Thermal Climate Index UTCI was applied to evaluate the human-bioclimatic conditions using meteorological data for the 12:00 UTC obtained ...
