Mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MBGNs) are investigated for bone regeneration given their remarkable structural and functional properties. MBGNs are functionalized with Mn and Cu and incorporated with quercetin, a natural flavonoid exhibiting antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.

UV‐B Irradiation Does Not Promote Flowering in Arabidopsis Despite Increased FT Expression
Various environmental factors control the plant flowering time. However, the specific effects of ultraviolet (UV)‐B radiation on flowering remain unclear. UV‐B irradiation delays flowering in Arabidopsis during short‐day (SD) photoperiods.

Deciduous and evergreen tree responses to enhanced UV-B treatment during three years
This paper reports a study of the strategies in Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) and European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) for coping with enhanced UV-B radiation. Trees, as plants in general, possess diverse systems which respond to UV-B radiation.

Freeze‐drying of layered silicate is the key to get coatings with superior gas barrier. Freeze‐drying of layered silicates modified with dodecylamine (DDA) is a highly effective technique for the preparation of barrier pigments that significantly mitigate the permeation of oxygen, water vapor, and hydrogen through polymer films containing these ...

Effects of ultraviolet radiation on aquatic bryophytes [PDF]
The depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer as a result of anthropogenic activities increases the ultraviolet-B (UV-B) irradiance at ground level. This may lead to harmful biological consequences affecting photosynthetic organisms.

An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.
