Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.

Affinity‐Tuned Albumin Hitchhiking Extends the Bioorthogonal Capture Window in Pretargeting Radiotheranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Pharmacokinetic engineering of clickable radioligands was achieved via albumin hitchhiking approach within a pretargeted radiotheranostics delivery platform. This approach reduced rapid renal elimination, expanded bioorthogonal capture window, boosted tumor uptake by ∼3.5‐fold, and improved the tumor‐to‐liver ratio by ∼6‐fold.

Antioxidants, a radical solution? : antioxidant responses of marine microalgae to ultraviolet radiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Virtually all sunlit waters around the world are inhabited by microalgae. These unicellular photosynthesizers use solar irradiance as their energy source. Yet, when absorbance of of light energy exceeds the energy needed for consumption, highly energetic

Plasmonic Enhancement of Fluorescence and Protein Dynamics in Living Mammalian Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates plasmonic enhancement of the function of fluorescent voltage sensing proteins (genetically encoded voltage indicators, (GEVIs), QuasAr6) in live mammalian cells. Coupling to plasmonic nanoparticles does not just increase fluorescence, but influences the protein photocycle, creating a hybrid sensor with its response speed to ...

The involvement of the antioxidant system in protection of desert cyanobacterium Nostoc sp against UV-B radiation and the effects of exogenous antioxidants

open access: yes, 2008
In this study, we found that UV-B radiation decreased photosynthetic activity and boosted lipid peroxidation of desert Nostoc sp., and exogenous chemicals (ascorbate acid (ASC), N-acetylcysteine (NAC), and sodium nitroprusside (SNP)) had obvious ...

Ferroelectric Quantum Dots for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work has provided a protocol for fabricating retinomorphic phototransistors by integrating ferroelectric ligands with quantum dots. The resulting device combines ferroelectricity, optical responsiveness, and low‐power operation to enable adaptive signal amplification and high recognition accuracy under low‐light conditions, while supporting ...

Spiro‐Phenothiazine Hole‐Transporting Materials: Unlocking Stability and Scalability in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorene‐functionalized spiro‐phenothiazine (PTZ‐Fl) exhibits strong Li+ affinity and thermal stability, enabling a PCE of 25.75% in small‐area cells and 22.07% in 25 cm2 modules. Under ISOS‐L3 conditions, PTZ‐Flbased devices retain over 80% efficiency after 1000 hours, demonstrating superior stability and scalability compared to spiro‐OMeTAD for next ...
