Solar UV-B Radiation Influences Carotenoid Accumulation of Tomato Fruit through Both Ethylene-Dependent and -independent Mechanisms [PDF]
The effect of UV-B shielding on ethylene production in ripening tomato fruits and the contribution of ethylene and UV-B radiation on carotenoid accumulation and profile during ripening were assessed to get more insight about the interplay between these

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

The Effect of Increased UV-B Radiation on the Terrestrial Ecosystem
Against rapidly developing industry and increasing population, natural resources on earth are getting destroyed. One of the most important adverse effects on the environment is perhaps the depletion of ozone layer which protects the earth from harmful ...

Solar ultraviolet-B radiation and vitamin D: a cross-sectional population-based study using data from the 2007 to 2009 Canadian Health Measures Survey [PDF]
Background: Exposure to solar ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation is a major source of vitamin D3. Chemistry climate models project decreases in ground-level solar erythemal UV over the current century.

Photoreceptors UVR8 and phytochrome B cooperate to optimize plant growth and defense in patchy canopies [PDF]
Light is a critical source of information for plants. Plants use the phytochromes (particularly phyB) to detect light signals associated with the proximity of competitors.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
