Recent Advances of Slip Sensors for Smart Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review summarizes recent progress in robotic slip sensors across mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical, magnetic, and acoustic mechanisms, offering a comprehensive reference for the selection of slip sensors in robotic applications. In addition, current challenges and emerging trends are identified to advance the development of robust, adaptive,

Spinal V1 inhibitory interneuron clades differ in birthdate, projections to motoneurons, and heterogeneity

open access: yeseLife
Spinal cord interneurons play critical roles shaping motor output, but their precise identity and connectivity remain unclear. Focusing on the V1 interneuron cardinal class we defined four major V1 subsets in the mouse according to neurogenesis, genetic ...

Convergence in distribution for filtering processes associated to Hidden Markov Models with densities

open access: yes, 2013
Consider a filtering process associated to a hidden Markov model with densities for which both the state space and the observation space are complete, separable, metric spaces.

Additive Manufacturing of Patient‐Specific Intracranial Aneurysm Cell Culture Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Patient‐specific intracranial aneurysm models were fabricated using chocolate moulding, 3D printed water‐soluble cores, and direct resin 3D printing. Moulding PDMS around sacrificial cores made of chocolate or 3D printed water‐soluble resin yielded accurate, expandable, and endothelializable models that outperformed resin‐based approaches.

A rotation-equivariant convolutional neural network model of primary visual cortex

open access: yes, 2018
Classical models describe primary visual cortex (V1) as a filter bank of orientation-selective linear-nonlinear (LN) or energy models, but these models fail to predict neural responses to natural stimuli accurately. Recent work shows that models based on

Explicit solution of the (quantum) elliptic Calogero-Sutherland model

open access: yes, 2008
We derive explicit formulas for the eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the elliptic Calogero-Sutherland model as infinite series, to all orders and for arbitrary particle numbers and coupling parameters.

Magnetic Textiles: A Review of Materials, Fabrication, Properties, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Magnetic textiles (M‐textiles) are emerging as a programmable materials platform that merges magnetic matter with hierarchical textile structures. This article consolidates magnetic material classes, textile architectures, and fabrication and magnetization strategies, revealing structure–property–function relationships that govern magneto‐mechanical ...

Lamination, Borders, and Thalamic Projections of the Primary Visual Cortex in Human, Non-Human Primate, and Rodent Brains

open access: yesBrain Sciences
The primary visual cortex (V1) is one of the most studied regions of the brain and is characterized by its specialized and laminated layer 4 in human and non-human primates.
