Phytopathology
Infection of cranberry by the 16SrIII-Y group phytoplasma responsible for cranberry false blossom disease results in floral disfigurement, fruit abortion, and phyllody, ultimately sterilizing infected plants.

An endophytic Cryptosporiopsis sp. isolated from Vaccinium myrtillus (bilberry) produced three different antibiotic-containing fractions on TLC plates. All were inhibitory to Candida albicans , which indicated that none of them was cryptosporiopsin, the only antibiotic so far known to be produced by this genus.
