The CtrCBL1/CtrCIPK6 Complex of Citrus Phosphorylates CtrBBX32 to Regulate CtrSTP1‐Mediated Sugar Accumulation and Cold Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The CtrCBL1‐CtrCIPK6 module of trifoliate orange (Citrus trifoliata L.) phosphorylates CtrBBX32, triggering its protein degradation under cold conditions, thereby relieving CtrBBX32‐mediated transcriptional repression of CtrZAT10 and CtrSTP1. The consequent upregulation of CtrZAT10 further activates CtrSTP1 expression, which enhances hexose transport ...

Chloroplast Protein Degradation in Senescing Leaves: Proteases and Lytic Compartments

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
Leaf senescence is characterized by massive degradation of chloroplast proteins, yet the protease(s) involved is(are) not completely known. Increased expression and/or activities of serine, cysteine, aspartic, and metalloproteases were detected in ...

Stage‐Resolved Phosphoproteomic Landscape of Mouse Spermiogenesis Reveals Key Kinase Signaling in Sperm Morphogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The quantitative proteomic and phosphoproteomic profiling reveals dynamic phosphorylation regulation of sperm morphogenesis. Kinase‐substrate phosphorylation network and phosphorylation module analysis, followed by in vivo knockdown and knockout analysis, identify TTBK2 and CSNK1G1 as key regulators of morphogenesis, including head, flagellar, and ...

Novel Swelling‐Lytic Cell Death Triggered by Cargo‐Free Ionizable Lipid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cargo‐free ionizable lipid nanoparticles (ipLNP) is found to induce broad swelling‐lytic cell death across multiple cell types. Cell death may be associated with lysosome membrane destabilization, involving ROS increase, lipid peroxidation, and GSDME cleavage.

Retromer Regulates Macro‐ and Micro‐Autophagy via Distinct Vacuolar Proteases in the Rice Blast Fungus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In wild‐type of M. oryzae (Guy11), MoPrb1 and MoPep4 are delivered into the vacuole by the retromer complex to mediate protein degradation and selective autophagy. Their proper localization and catalytic functions are essential for the fungal vegetative growth, conidiation and pathogenicity. However, retromer mutations disrupt this transport, impairing

Viability assessment and transplantation of fatty liver grafts using end‐ischemic normothermic machine perfusion

open access: yesLiver Transplantation, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract End‐ischemic viability testing by normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) represents an effective strategy to recover liver grafts having initially been discarded for liver transplantation (LT). However, its results in the setting of significant (≥30%) macrovesicular steatosis (MaS) have not been specifically assessed.

Loss of the putative Rab GTPase, Ypt7, impairs the virulence of Cryptococcus neoformans

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
Small GTPases of the Rab family coordinate multiple membrane fusion and trafficking events in eukaryotes. In fungi, the Rab GTPase, Ypt7, plays a critical role in late endosomal trafficking, and is required for homotypic fusion events in vacuole ...
