Simulation of vacuum arc cathode spot movement between transverse magnetic field contacts

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
Vacuum switches have been extensively used in the field of medium voltage. Carrying out relevant research on vacuum arc is particularly important for improving the performance and reliability of vacuum switches. The vacuum arc cathode spots provide metal

Increased ignition efficiency vacuum-arc discharge in plasma sources

open access: yesАвіаційно-космічна техніка та технологія, 2022
The analysis of the existing vacuum-arc discharge ignition systems showed the following ways to improve their efficiency: development of new design solutions for both individual units and the entire ignition system as a whole; the use of composite ...

Polyelectrolyte Adsorption [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The problem of charged polymer chains (polyelectrolytes) as they adsorb on a planar surface is addressed theoretically. We review the basic mechanisms and theory underlying polyelectrolyte adsorption on a single surface in two situations: adsorption of a

Copper Nanocrystallization in Anodic Oxide Films of Ti–Cu‐Based Bulk Metallic Glass and Its Effect on the Corrosion Resistance and Cytocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Viktoriia Shtefan, Thorgund Nemec, Ute Hempel, Annett Gebert and coworkers demonstrate that anodic treatment of Ti–Cu‐based metallic glass in a nontoxic pyrophosphate electrolyte forms a protective bilayered Ti/Zr‐oxide film enriched with Cu nanocrystals.

Diamondlike flakes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
A carbon coating was vacuum arc deposited on a smooth surface of a target which was simultaneously ion beam sputtered. The bombarding ions have sufficient energy to create diamond bonds. Spalling occurs as the carbon deposit thickens.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

High-strength tungsten alloy with improved ductility [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Alloy combines superior strength at elevated temperatures with improved ductility at lower temperatures relative to unalloyed tungsten. Composed of tungsten, rhenium, hafnium, and carbon, the alloy is prepared by consumable electrode vacuum arc-melting ...

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

MECHANISM ANALYSIS AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF VACUUM ARC WELDING EQUIPMENT

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2017
There is no uniform standard for determining the parameters of the key factors in the process of vacuum arc brazing. The parameters of the vacuum arc welding equipment are determined by the experience.
